The staff are always nice, never snobby, and they pack for you too. Always buy my batteries there.
This is actually a very big plus point and well worth you mentioning. The bags hang straight off the area they scan the goods so there is no room for them to pile up goods or for the customer to pack them themselves. This design forces the staff to put the goods into bags, and all you have to do is take the full bags off the hooks. The only problem can be when they are busy and you have lots of stuff to get onto the (tiny) conveyor belt cos then the bags are filling up at the till and you still have stuff to put onto the conveyor belt! However the staff usually then carefully lift the full bags onto the floor ready for you to pick up when you get there. It all works quite well really.

I think this is great for older people who cannot always pack very quickly. The only time it didn't work so good was when I think I forgot to pick up one of my bags fropm the floor. It was either that or someone nicked it from under the table whilst I was in Sainsbury's cafe. Either way it only had about £2 worth of stuff in it, which was probably a pile of 19p choc and 10 bags of 6p crisps.
I think people see Home Bargains as a cheapo shop, bit like Poundland, but actually they are clean, tidy and 95% of the stuff is well-known brands. Anyone who's not been in should give it a go, you'll be very pleasantly surprised. Most of our Christmas presents come from there.0 -

Yup, i totally agree! I love Poundland (and other pound shops)-have picked up great bargains from both and as you say brand name stuff
my latest bargain from there was Garnier Ambre Solare 50+ suncream (im very pale and burn easily so go for highest i can afford usually!) 200ml size (full size) for £2.99-they were on offer for £5 in asda last night so saved a couple of quid!(have since used it, and is brill btw for fair skin like me)

Today I bought a few Gallow Turning Leaf Zinfandel and another variety from the Ripon store. Only £3.49, usually about £6.00 and very, very nice!
Also good was Pringles XXL tubes, 2 for £1.38.
Loads of other stuff but I'm exceptionally pleased with these two!0 -
We went to our nearest home bargains this week (which is 20 miles away! please come south of northhampton soon!) and got amongst other things:
strawberry shortcake dolly £3.99
outfit for dolly £1.99 (I think)
lovely lined wicker basket, decent size, great for laundry or toys £2.99
2 x wicker stair baskets, the ones like an upside down L - £2.50 each!
soft eating liquorice (although what else you'll do with it I don't know, macrame?) approx 70p
and the zenith of moneysaving - they had stardrops, starclen and starpine
I also got quite a nice lamp and shade for £5.99
we also got soem of the amre solaire sun cream, we have six children 5 of whom have to take sun cream in to school or nursery as well so you can imagine the amount I spend on it during the summer!
great big packs of loo roll for £2.99 too and ocean spray cranberry juice was cheap.
they had jane asher pastry mix cheap, ready to use royal icing in tubs for 39p , I can't remember what else I bought now but we spent the most in there ever and had an over flowing trolley full and two big reusable shopping bags too!0 -

But they scan the stuff at a speed which i can pack fine unlike some supermarkets (probably because of the small area to leave the stuff when scanned)Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0
