my turn!! had a letter today.
interesting that they have changed style and layout from the letter scanned in above - new heading on letter entitled "Consumer Information" so are they pretending they are a consumer advice body now....
Anyway, my letter does not refer to any supposed previous correspondence.
It refers to a court ruling last year which means as a discharged bankrupt, I can claim compensation - what I am supposed to claim compensation for I am not sure exactly lol! Unless I can sue myself for complete stupidity and burying my head in the sand syndrome.....
giving a free phone number and reference, again still quoting that they are regulated by the ministry of justice etc
am just going to ignore it as it is just screaming SCAM SCAM SCAM at me.....BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Don, please don't just ignore it but do forward it on as recommended earlier in this thread. If the official bodies don't receive complaints about unscrupulous companies like this then they can do nothing to stop them. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I received a letter in the post this morning from a company called Simply Credit Claims in S!!!!horpe?
It states that as a consequence of a court ruling last year that as a discharged bankrupt I should aware that I may be in a position to claim compensation. This important issue has not been advertised or featured in the media and as a consequence you are probably unaware of the possibility open to you.
they don't go into anymore detail other than "this requires thorough explanation with regards to the qualifying details" and a phone number to ring.
The only thing I can think of is that it is to do with PPI, has anyone else had any correspondence on the same issue?
If it is PPI I really can't see banks and credit card companies giving you money back if they've lost out on thousands of pounds due to you going bankrupt!0 -
I've had exactly the same letter this morning!0

Hi this is my first post as I have also received this letter and I Googled the company as I was suspicious bringing me to this site.
Claims advice service told me they had wrote to me in October but they hadn’t and as an unemployed discharged bankrupt the opportunity to claim some PFI back was something I thought impossible, however some sites are saying as a discharged bankrupt the IS couldn’t chase this up and the fact that it concerns miss sold payment protection the money should be refunded to the claimant rather than go to the original debt, is there anything set in stone or is it open to interpretation?

If you had read the rest of this thread, you would see it is set in stone and the company that wrote to you is telling porkie pies.
Please send their letters on to the Ministry Of Justice and the Insolvency service with a complaint.

Yes, me too, received the very same letter this morning, the one headed 'Consumer Information' tried to check them out on the claims regulation website, but this proved nothing so I did a search on the name and ended up here, so it seems this company is busy at the moment sending out these letters, and I have to admit I was tempted to 'phone as it is two weeks off my discharge, and therefore added a sense of being for real, but thank goodness for being older and more cynical than I used to be and didn't take this at it's face value.
Having now read all the other posts I will pass this letter on to the relevant departments as mentioned above to try to stop these people tryng to make capital out of our circumstances.0
