Care Parking - fine for pulling over to close boot properly.

The point i was making is the one about 'Fines' - in their own (not council owned, eg Stevenage and Southport) carparks.sarahg1969 wrote: »T&CP issue tickets at our local Asda. Apart from the ones in the disabled bays, there are no signs in the car park. However, they issue tickets to people who park there and then leave the site to use the adjacent leisure centre!0 -
I have since had another letter from them saying since the fine hadn't been paid it has risen. Ignored it. Just had another letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd saying the debt has been passed on to them and needs to be paid within 7 days. Just checking Debt Recovery Plus are ok to ignore (can find a few things about them but no-one ever updates what happens in the end (ie to confirm NOTHING happened ? ) so am unsure.
Ps. Only just seen that someone asked for the letters to be uploaded. Will look in to doing that soon.
PPS. Just wanted to add (as I think I may have deleted an earlier post which explained) that the 'fine' seems to be for entering a bus lane and not for parking, technically. We didn't actually drive down the bus lane. We pulled over on a yellow grid bit just before the bus lane to shut the boot properly then left round the round about (not down the bus lane). People say things like 'you don't owe them anything as it's a free car park and therefore they have suffered no losses' but it wasn't actually for parking, so didn't know if the bus lane 'offence' should be treated any differently.0 -

Once again - this is not a FINE , it's an unenforceable invoice!
Yes, you can ignore them. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Do not ignore a private parking ticket - from 2013 onwards things changed in England/Wales. If yours is Parking Eye then they are suing people and so are some other PPCs.
You must appeal and with current forum advice, you will win at popla - we win 100% of appeals in 2014.

Did I say STOP reading this ancient thread, NOW??!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Cheers. I will ignore but update the thread with further letters etc just to help people who may land here after googling the company name. I will scan the leters from Care Parking (after removing details) as don't think anyone has them already. So just to confirm for others: I had original letter from Care Parking (one month after the 'offence'). A second letter from Care Parking then 1 letter from Debt Recovery Plus ltd so far. Expecting the next one from DRP to be a threat to court, then the next one to be an offer to reduce the 'fine' if paid. Then hoping they will stop, as seems to be the pattern, seeing as I havn't contacted them at all.0

Hi Kitty
I was wondering if you have heard anything else from Care Parking, I have received a 1st 'invoice' from them after stopping on a double yellow line for less than 1 min because an emergency on a Asda car park. Did the debt collectors hassle you further?
Thanks for your helpful post0 -
Hi Bass. I have had one more letter from the debt collector since (the threatening to go to court one). So I have had 2 from Careparking and two from the debt collector. The last one was over a week ago so I am expecting the next letter I receive to be a 'reduced payment offer' letter as this seems to be the pattern. Then the pattern seems to be that they leave you alone after that but I will let you know after the next letter.
I have made NO contact with them so far and will continue to ignore any more letters. Don't pay them.0 -

I'd be harassing Asda because of this. At what point did you see and read any displayed contract?!0 -
You COULD certainly have a go at Asda since they are more likely to take notice, if you just want to have some fun. You could send the harassment warning to Asda too as the PPC is acting nominally as their agent. Depends if you can be bothered or not, really.
Contract surely irrelevant if the stop was forced on Bass anyway, Alexis?0 -
By the PPC's logic, parking up is 'acceptance' of any contract, despite the fact you may have been walking from your car to the sign.0
