  • Stumbled across this by accident tonight, so glad I did as I am one of those that get easily scared by clever wording and would have put up the funds.

I shall be reading more in depth later on, but now I know to hold fire if I ever should receive one of these bogus tickets.

    Happy New Year:beer:

I haven't looked but if there are no scans of these care parking in the stickies, would one of you be so kind as to provide scans or pictures of the documents you receive ? Just remove personal details first, instructions for uploading images are in the stickies as well.

Many thanks and happy new year.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Hi Coupon-Mad

No I haven't read any of it yet, but I was informing the husband lastnight about what I had discovered and I will be reading and viewing ALL of it later on.

Thanks again for high lighting all this information.:D

    Not strictly true.

Some PPCs - those new to thegame - do still put Penalty Charge Notice on their letters. Even good old Asda still have it on some signs in their own car parks.

Some PPCs also quote Traffic Management Act. Step forward those chancers, Excel from Sheffield

Peter Haswell of UKCPS quoted that act in a recent court case he lost. He was given short shrift by the judge, telling him it was irrelevant in a civil case.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

The signs you refer to are those erected by Town & City Parking - a contractor for Asda. They were supposedly granted a dispensation by the BPA to allow them time to amend their signs. The dispensation was granted at the beginning of 2011 and seems to be somewhat open ended. I've yet to come across a PPC that quotes the TMA 2004 (if you have evidence of that I'd be very interested) unless you are referring to some of the larger companies who also play - legitimately - in the field of decriminalised parking enforcement for local authorities.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Hi, I find these idiots give up if you send them an invoice for the same amount. Base your costs on the admin fee/ advice from your Legal entity.
Warn them that your charges to them will increase with each and every letter they issue to you.

A handy tip for all those that park in Romford Council carparks-their jobs worth will even sweep the snow from the white lines to ensure you are within your space-we filmed Mr Knobs worth doing it last year-there was only 2 cars parked at the time!!!

His time would have been better spent clearing pavements-but I suppose not as valuable as fleecing the motorist!!

How did they get everyone to reverse park in the photo? Would forward parking incur a PCN? http://www.careparking.co.uk/car-park-management.htm

Just noticed this thread, has anyone noticed the picture is not even in this country :rotfl:

Yes, they are Town & City.
However, when you are standing next to the receptionist (main and not store desk) as she announces that drivers of illegally parked cars will be FINED you do have to chuckle

As for letters referring to the TMA2004: Of course i have them, that's why i mentioned it. These are in reference to private land and not the public highway. No amount of begging could get them to take me to court. I wonder why..

T&CP issue tickets at our local Asda. Apart from the ones in the disabled bays, there are no signs in the car park. However, they issue tickets to people who park there and then leave the site to use the adjacent leisure centre!
