  • Big thanks to the original poster !!!!

I bought my son a 2nd hand one from cex for £20 last year as I didn't want to shell out £100 for him to break it so thought it was the best option.

He then got a new one but the other one was at the bottom of the toy box so just spent 15 mins stumbling round in the dark whilst my son was asleep looking for it , the lengths we go to !!!

Have tapped the info in and my box is on it's way

Thanks again , this is why I love Mse !!!!

  • I posted mine back 25/11 still not received online. Went through the terrible Apple call centre, that cuts you off every now and then saying no advisor available or we cannot understand you! Worst company call centre I have ever deaalt with and I have dealt with many over the years!

Advisor said received today. Probably telling everyone that! Then said should now get replacement to you in 6 weeks.

I found it very surprising that a technology based company such as Apple don't have internet or email, as a means of customer service or support.

I have deliberately not called them, as I don't want to go through the call centre merry go round.

My status still hasn't changed from empty box shipped on 15 November.

Finally got around to posting mine today. Not in any rush now so i'll see what happens. I hadn't used the nano for years (iPod 160gb Classic replaced it) so I won't miss it. I'd planned to use it's replacement in the kitchen :)
  • Their call centre is like fonejacker...after going through about 20 voice commands it says all of our advisors are busy at the moment please call back!

I emailed them too and they said we are unable to deal with this enquiry via email you need to call us.

I did say way back on page 1 there was a 6 week wait on replacements so I'd be surprised if many were returned before then.
    :p
  • The issues isn't with the 6 weeks, its the fact that after three weeks via Royal mail 1st class special delivery they haven't even received the Nano!

Did it look something like this:

    "Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for contacting the Apple Online Store.

I understand you are in need of assistance regarding your Apple product. I do apologise for any inconvenience this issue may have caused, and am more than happy to assist with providing you the best resource for your query. While we are unable to provide you with support directly, we can provide you with the contact details for our technical support team; please note this is a phone based service and therefore do not have an email address where I may forward your query. You may reach an AppleCare Advisor on the following:

    Tel: UK (44) 0844 209 0611"

:rotfl:Think I'll wait and see what happens. I suspect that Apple did this very quietly not expecting many people to send back their ipods for replacement, but then it hit the internet and thousands will have found their old ipods shoved in drawers or down the back of sofas and sent them back.

They are probably just working through the returns, or are waiting for batches of replacements to be made?
  • No mine was different it actually stated they cannot tell me by email if they have received my Nano or not and I need to escalate it with a phone call, why they couldn't escalate it from the email I do not know!

Mine was posted back on the 16th Nov and they received it on the 18th.You can check the progress of your order on the apple website. Log in to our Apple ID on the site and our can check the progress of the repair. It takes upto 6weeks because they are ordering the new parts they require to replace the battery etc...
