If anyone in Birmingham/Worcester is looking for a reduced christmas dinner, I just went into Weoley Castle Co-op and they have reduced loads to half price:
Half a dozen huge turkeys, turkey crowns, other meat.
Crates full of sprouts and potatoes.
Pork pies, pasties, quiche etc all good for guests!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Well so much for a run of NSD's, had to go out yesterday and get OH some more coffee:mad: Also realised that I had forgotten the vodka for our snowballs:eek:. So spent £22.08 on those, plus a couple of small bits due to finding out that I am having DGS round for 3 days next week.
NSD today, will be spending the day making sure that the house is toddler proof (my youngest is 10, so a few years since I have had to worry about that).
Thank you to everyone that keeps the GC running and to all the lovely people that provide moral support, hope, insperation and when needed, a kick up the backside:T
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas :xmassign:

Hello All,
I just wanted to come on to say thank you to everyone on the thread for their encouragement, support, inspiration and ears to listen as, unfortunately, none of us have a whole year where life is rosy throughout. You have all been wonderful.
A special mention must be made for rosieben who tirelessly lists the recipes that help us all keep on the straight and narrow, thank you. :A Helen jelly you too have been wonderful in stepping into the breach to make sure we are listed each month, thank you. :A Zippychick and Pink-winged (sorry if I've missed any others) the board guides who ensure that each month our challenges start again with new threads, thank you too. :A
I don't know where you are or why you had to leave but MrsMcCawber I'm thinking of you this Christmas and want to thank you too for the work you put in throughout 2010 and the beginning of this year. I hope you are well and thank you. :A
I haven't updated the spreadsheet (or sig) but do have my receipts and the budget is just intact by my reckoning. Not listing my January budget yet as sometime this next week I need to sit and do my annual budget for everything and then I'll know what it will be. I will post before the 31st though.
The new year is probably going to be another tight one with many challenges put before us not only grocery ones but those will probably be pinched even more so I'm going to wish us all a MSE 2012!
Have a fab holiday and see you when I've put on about 10lbs! :rotfl:
Take care,

Many thanks for sharing this, HiddenIdentity, lots of food for thought there (sorry, couldn't resist the pun...have a glass of wine in hand and am watching pantos on TV...)
I'll be dipping in and out of this as the months go on, and I've reduced my store cupboard and freezer. The next couple of months should be easy for me, given that I'm currently very well stocked up...after that, will certainly be using many of the tips. I'm in awe...
Definitely NOT worthy...
