hi please can i join the december gc.:)
for the last couple of weeks i have been doin my own grocery budget and managing on about £20 a week,my cupboards two freezers and fridge are packed to the rafters so the £20 i have been budgeting has been ample.
i really need to cut down on my spending and start saving more etc and have just found this thread and think its great i love all the different recipes on 1st page have only read a couple but will be definatly having another look
so for december i am budgeting £200 £50 a week which is for two of us and a cat but i have enough catfood to last til january bought it while it was on offer so dont have to worry about that or cat liiter.and i have two freezers that are full and my cupboards are full so think £50 is quite doable, i have already sorted xmas dinner we are having lamb which i bought last week £10 for a leg from market we arn't keen on turkey.my budget includes food, drink, toiletries and household cleaning products but i have lots of them aswell so am going to try and spend as little as possible and use up what ive got but dont want to have a small budget and fail misserably due to xmas etc.
i have also got lots of stuff to make bread, cakes etc so will try and do some baking instead of buying stuff.VSP#17 £2.34

I had a great buy a couple of days ago in Coop as they had reduced their chicken breasts to £2 per pack(average 4 per pack)and still had a day to go on sellby date. I bought 10 packs! There were about 60 packs there so pleaty still for others!
Have done well on Waitrose egg sarnies reduced to 65p per pack-Ds had those 2 days running;+)
Came in way under budget for November so have loadsa lolly for December but we really spend very little at Christmas apart from the presents as we don't have much family that we buy for. Cutting my budgets again next year as DD moving out and it will hopefully curb my overstock habit. Hoping to get back some of what my "kids" owe me moneywise now they are sorting themselves out. Just sorting out some supper for myself and I think its gonna be beef and sprouts(weird I know)but I'm reducing my carbs to lose a few pounds for Christmas!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

Quite pleased, sitting here meal planning and writing the A*da list, and I think I'm struggling to get it to £40 (which I want to do to get the fiver off we have from the price gurantee) Good to know we obviously stocked up well at the weekend. I'm tempted to add some Christmas bits and bobs, but I'm worried OH will eat them early if I do and we have limited freezer space.
Think I might need to meal plan two weeks ahead and try and get some bits for the following week.February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500 -
Can I please be put down for £200 this month? Although I came in way under last month, I haven't got much in for Christmas yet and will have my dad, my DS and his GF visiting, so I will go for a bit extra but hoping not to spend it all. I will try to do a meal plan for this month too, as last month it didn't happen after all!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Hi
Please can The Thrifty Scrumpers be put down for £360 for Dec. Many thanks to all who run the thread.
I am really pleased as I managed to get lots of the glitch (Mr T) c4dburys choc. Its the 120g bars of d4iry Milk. The are 96p on shelf but go through at 34p!! That's cheaper than value choc so I am well stocked up for baking/eating/gifts. It took me £2.55 over my Nov GC budget but well worth it :rotfl:GC Mar 11 £437.08Apr 11 £459.26 May 11 £485.52 June 11 £423.79July 11 £409.22 Aug 11 £250.10Sept 11 £396.14Oct 11 £382.37Nov 11 £372.55Dec 11 £332.29 Jan 12 £375.19:Feb 12 £349.58Mar 12 £279.66Apr 12 £249.12May 12 £337.66/Jun 12 £362.58/Jul 12 £317.03/Aug 12 £354.02/Sept £439.72/Oct 12 £210.160 -

Hello all - time to face up to the fact that it's December in two hours' time. Where on earth did the year go?
We've decided to be a bit generous to ourselves and set our budget at £150 for December [for mostly just the two of us, but guests likely for meals from time to time throughout the month].
We'll be aiming to keep it closer to £100, and keep the remaining quids in hand in case of any great whoopsie bargains that turn up in those lovely Christmas Eve/New Year's Eve windows
Off to a rather dramatic start today with a big [for us] delivery from Mr S - £65.22. The cupboards and freezer are now packed, so we're well set for the next few weeks.
Me and Him Indoors are now firmly on the SW bandwagon [me again - hopefully for the last time; him for the first - and hopefully only - time], so there's going to be lots more fruit and veg being bought instead of bread, biscuits and sweets [favourite naughty food groups for me] and mayo and peanut butter [likewise, for him].
And I'll be keeping out of shops as much as possible, so hoping for more NSDs than last month too.
Thanks to everyone keeping the threads going, and the very best of luck to everyone embracing the challenge. We can do it...Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides.0 -
