My friend has just got a panasonic breadmaker and is raving about it so much that I am thinking of getting one!

I love my panasonic breadmaker!....I did have a Morphy Richards for years but was never happy how the bread cooked so i used to only use the dough setting...but now i have lovely loaves in my panasonic BM!

I have had a BM for 11 years now and i wouldn't be without one. There is a massive thread somewhere on this board re panasonic breadmakers, but make sure you have a cup of tea and loads of time to read it as it really is a big thread if i remember rightly lol

    Hi all,

Please could you put me down for £200 for December - to give us plenty of treats and also to get some extras in as DD is coming home from London for the festivities.

Have also set aside a fund to buy beers - we usually get a couple of cases of something on offer but have decided this year to buy a collection of individual bottles and actually enjoy them instead of just drinking them for their alcohol content (might involve a trip to waitro$e as they have a really nice selection:D)

Thanks to the lovelies who run the thread - where would we all be without you.

Hi all I have closed my budget for November and am very please to say its all gone to plan.I have £41 20 left out of my original £100.00 that I allowed for my food purse in November.
I had 18 NSD out of 30 which I am very please about as well and my freezer is slowly emptying out as I had hoped.I have had some suprising meals when I had forgotten what I had wrapped up in the freezer (memo to self: LABEL stuff in future !) But apart from that I am glad that I have a nice little pot of cash to put away towards my holidays next year.I save all the left over cash for the spending money for ice-creams and treats when I am away with my Dd and tribe as with 5 children even an ice cream can amount to quite a bit.We are booked up for next year at Sea Palling in Norfolk for a fortnight in August so I'll be looking forward to that.

December's new budget will be £100.00 as usual and I will see what I can salvage at the end of December from that .I am sticking to buying essentials only and at Christmas time and New Year I am usually at one or the other of my DDs.

I have a seperate fund which I use to buy them biscuits, turkeys and trimmings so they don't have to worry and its my contribution to the 'pot' so to speak.

Well done to you all who have managed to keep the food costs down a bit .It will be harder in the coming New Year I think as food prices never go down only up but keeping a sharp eye on things does help I think
There really should be a pat-on-the-back symbol for us all .Apart from saving hard earned cash think about the lessening food mountain that we are not putting in the bin
Good luck everyone for December it is the hardest month to economise in because of all the tempting offers in store
    Cheers JackieO xxxx
  • Morning everyone, I'm just waiting for my shopping to be delivered, rubbish! I hate doing online shops. I always seem to forget things that I wouldn't if I was doing a proper shop, it always seems to cost more and I always end up having to take something back that was gone off when delivered, but needs must and no car for me this week so it had to be done. £4 for the hassle of having it delivered, having to wait probably until the end of the delivery slot (that's what usually happens with MrT ones), I hate it. Right time to stop moaning:o.

It's cost £74 plus delivery (but don't count that in my grocery budget), plus I spent £7.89 in the Co-op yesterday, leaving me with a total so far of £109.66 which I'm happy about as that's £10 under budget for the week. :j

  • Norning everyone - my this thread moved fast!

My planned NSD yesterday fell through as DD2 wanted to go to the chip shop with her friends as they were all going, so I said she could go and get something small. I only had a £5 in my purse so gave her that and told her to bring change as she should get a kids meal (£2.50 for chips, drink and sausage, burger or similar). She trolled off and bought a fish and a small chips for £4.70 and then spent the 30p change in the little sweet shop on penny rubbish!! I was really cross with her, and even more so when at 10 o'clock she was making oven chips and spring rolls out of the freezer (she has hollow legs).

She wants to go ice skating in town today but I am not sure whether to let her because a) it's expensive and b) it is right by where there is going to be a rally for the strikers so.....

Have to go shopping today, but have made my list and am hoping to stick to it. I've had a big bowl of porridge so I won't be hungry when shopping (I buy all kinds if I am hungry!). I am going to Aldi now and will go to Mr T tonight to see if there are any whoopsies.

Lunch will be leek and potato soup, plus butties for kids (who are off cos of the strikes) and dinner will something with the mince I got out of the freezer last night.

    Have a good day all!
    Jane

  • Yet to add up my totals for November but it was about £150 over, partly due to my meat shop at the market. Could you put me down for £400 for December please.

  • Still waiting. Yep, as expected I'm left to last as always with MrT, 20 minutes to go of my delivery slot. I always get excited though as it gets close to the end in the hope of some kind of refund for them being late.
