First shop of the month today :D So I'll have to add a huge £146.33 to my signature  Some of this is alcohol for xmas but still! On a positive note I may be getting around £12 refunded due to wrong crisps being delivered and the box of the posh beer I got for xmas being battered

  • Well the shopping arrived at 2 minutes to 12!!!! I do like MrT substitutions though as they 'upgrade' you for free. I ordered value liquid soap but they'd run out so sent 2 Carex ones instead, which I was really happy with until I remembered that CArex really cracks my hands, Doh! I think I had 4 substitutions so did alright really, about £6 or £7 extra at no extra cost, the only thing is they didn't have the formula that DD has and so sent Aptimil instead, which is evil stuff, so will need to get that on Friday when I go out.

Today I went to M&S and bought £15.35 of veg/cheese/yoghurt but as I had vouchers it only cost me £2.35.

We then went to Mr S where I spent another £17.06. Should have enough in to last the week now.

Hi everyone i have decided to try the dec challenge

could you put me down for £200 please

there are 3 in the house plus a dog so should be able to stick to it we always put away £50 a month for bulk buys like meat for the freezer and loo rolls or whatever is on offer that we use we have been averageing about £300 a month

i have started keeping a spending diary for the last 6 months and have cut back hugely so now the shopping will be getting cut as much as possible we cook from scratch most days and bulk bake so fingers crossed it will go well last month i had 14 NSD going for better than that in dec :D

    Count me in, please.

The budget is better than I'd expected. I've just added up all the available cash. It's broken down as follows:

    £120 general groceries
£110 accumulated Christmas fund (we put aside £10/month for Christmas and Easter)
£134 accumulated "meat fund" (we put aside £40/month for quarterly visits to the butcher)
    £69.50 Mr T's clubcard vouchers

A grand total of £433.50!
I am stunned! Even with the prices our butcher charges, we won't spend that much this month. (I expect to pay £70 for a turkey.) Put me down for £200 or £250 if we manage to get a goose as well as the turkey.

ETA: There are just two of us, although my husband can eat for 4. (He's thin, too. Not fair.) We'll be hosting Christmas dinner but that's only one or two extra people.
