sorry? not taking a job? I CANT GET ONE!!! LOL Yeah I will swap my last salary of £25k for £67.45 a week I am so much better off sure I am , do the math!richardc1983 wrote: »Ok well good on you for looking but can I just ask, what is the reason for not taking a job? there are plenty out there? The longer you are out of work the harder it is to get a job.
You can't work if you can't get interviews or maybe I have it wrong?0 -
Also to a single person who wants to work you are entitled to nothing really so i dont know how people survive but if you have a family (many of them tend to keep breeding) then they will continue to pile on the benefits! If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

I can't get an interview at minimum wage as over qualified! I do not chose to be out of work!
Then you are not the group I am targetting then & I understand the frustration.
These days there is no point doing university courses because if it comes to it there are not enough jobs in these areas and then taking a lower skilled job they dont want you.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

Why do you need 25K? you say are over qualified so cant get an interview. Would you take a job at minimum wage if you could get one?If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
richardc1983 wrote: »I was watching the one show last night on bbc1 and it had some woman on benefits and she had food parcels to help them eat: What a lazy woman she was. This woman didnt work cos she doesn't want to be doing a job she will be unhappy in! Has big tv though so her kids "can have the things they want" she said. Sorry love but you have it all wrong. She even had a pedigree dog that cost £15 a week in tv and large 50" tv cos her kids wanted it.
Thats not as extreme as my ex's family she was 28 and never left home as she had a good life as everything was cooked for her, she was drove to town and back when at college(and getting about £600 a month in various grants) then signed on after she left college, her parents got high DLA and even a free car and my ex got very expensive items every year, like a Wii a few weeks after it came out for Christmas, a Xbox 360 the year before and a ps3 and loads of blu rays and games the year after.
Also her parents who are meant to be so bad they cant leave the house or go that far used to happily walk around town for hours with loads of heavy shopping bags.
Since she was a extreme example I do get a bit annoyed when people talk about everyone on benefits in general as theres rarely any good stories about them.0 -

I was speaking in general some people wont take a job because the ammount of benefits they get are more than what they may get working. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
