Great piccys Kyle, lovely to look at but you may keep the snow!

Well done Mrs A - as they say every little helps.

Congrats to the sports players, winners and losers. Had a bad start to the day, just after I posted on what I had to do, DH shouted to say that the Australian Grand Slam Tennis was on, that was me until lunch time, tv goggling. Better when the men wore shorter shorts though! Thoroughly enjoyed the match, but "piles" not finished. Maybe during the week

Ah! remembered someone asked about SKYPE possibly GB

You can use it two ways. If you want to have a telephone handset and call a normal landline, then you have to buy the handset and buy time with Skype. I think 18866 or 1899 are as cheap as easy to use from your normal phone.

BUT if you are talking to someone else with Broadband, or even dial-up then you can talk to them over the internet via skype, by just registering with them, and using a microphone and earphones.

Then again you can use Microsoft Messenger and have a Video link too if you have a Web Cam.

One word of warning if you are going from BBand to a Dialup connected there is a delay between them speaking and you hearing, and it can be very annoying.

You would get more Technical info from the Techie Board, and if anyone wants any more info or to try out the "free" Skype or Messenger, then PM me, I dont want this list shouting at me!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Afternoon. Hope everyone's day is going well. Congrats to those of you who won your footies matches.

Having got up earlish this morning (later than I do during the week so sort of a lie in), I ended up crawling back into bed around 9.30 for a cuddle with the BF, woke him up, so he got up and then fell asleep until midday !! I think I must have needed the sleep.

Been busy since then. Spent an hour counting the birds in the garden for the RSPB Garden Watch. Ended up with 15 house sparrows at the same time. At the same time as counting birds I managed to empty the DW, peel the potatos and make nut roast for dinner. The washing is now done, shopping done, just needed a few bits for the next couple of days and then a big shop come payday, vacuuming done and kitchen floor finally cleaned. The house is looking great.

Normally I spend sundays channel surfing on the tv looking for something to watch. Other than about 15 minutes while I ate breakfast I haven't been near the TV all day and it feels so much better to have actually acheived something.

Kitchen floor should be dry now, time to go boil the potatoes for roasties.

We have rotting apples under our trees and the blackbirds are going mad for them - maybe they are getting drunk on the cyder:D

    Evening everyone

I have done extremely little today bar play on my favourite computer game :D DD is bathed and in bed. DH is fed and is going to make DD's sandwiches for me. I'm going to finish loading the dishwasher in a minute and then wash my hair after DS goes to bed at 9.

Shock of all shocks today! I had a phone call from my sister! I haven't spoken to her for at least two years and she is now doing a photography course and wants me to pose for her for a portrait she has to do. I hate being photographed and tried to duck out of it but she insisted I was the prettiest person she knew and she really wanted me to do it and she would take some nice photo's of my DD if I'd pose for her. So next Sunday I am going to be feeling sick while my sister points a camera at me.

  • Good evening all,

OH and I returned from our weekend away at tea time and reality hit as always. Dogs and kids clamouring for attention, washing to be done, DW to be emptied and filled and all the stuff we got while away to be found homes for. We got a storage rack that goes under the bathroom sink which we have put together and installed in the bathroom, also a 6 drawer unit to put lots of stuff in for the bathroom as well which again is already put together and filled with stuff. I also got a lovely enamelled bread bin (very trendy) half price, not exactly the colour I wanted but the compromise is worth it.

OH and I relaxed and had a lovely time wandering around Worcester and Malvern - charity shops mainly - I got some Partylite candles for £1.40, loads of books, a tin commemorating the coronation for 50p, a scent bottle in crystal glass for £3, and the buy of the century was a 1950's anthracite (plastic) and diamante clutch bag for £38 which is my present to myself for being such a good girl for ages and ages.

I also got some stuff to sell on ebay - some 50's risque glasses, a 70's broach and an ashtray from the 60's which looks like someones tech project but is genuinely 60's coz it is on it as part of the coins it is made from!!!!

All in all had a good time, stayed in Travelodge and had bed picnics to keep food costs down and watched dvds in the evening.

Hope everyone is well. Hugs to those in need.

    Louise

Thanks for the info re Skype - I will do a bit of research before we go down that line.

Beef from slow cooker wonderful - just about to go down and slice and freeze the rest. Our joint soup was lovely too.

Kyle -piccies lovely. Weather not anything like that in central Scotland. Got washing done and a wee bit of weeding in gardening. Sounds like you had a fab day.

Just done the beef. 4 x 2 portions in freezer and another 2 portion in fridge for tomorrow, 12 portions can't be bad plus gravy in there too!
