OS SUNDAY 28th January 2006

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sun 28th jan. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi everyone. Hope this finds you well. I am up getting ready for work. Weekend cover.... Could be busy, could be nothing at all. I had hoped to get away early yesterday, but it never happened...
Everything seems normal around here. Weather is average, everything else ticking along nicely... Could use a few more quid, but then again who does'nt.
25 Secrets of Endless Love

1. We remember the moments in life, not the days.

2. Face-to-face conversations don't work by phone.
3. Gifts are not a substitute for caring.
4. People are not yo-yos. Drop them, and they may not return.
5. When kids are ready to talk, be ready to listen.
6. An ounce of love outweighs a pound of promises.
7. You can prepare your children for life, but you can't live it for them.
8. Uncles and aunts are the parents who didn't give birth to you.
9. A strong marriage is the union of two staunch individualists.
10. Turning your back and walking away ends more than just a conversation.
11. Marrying for money is a high price to pay.
12. Yell at your children and get the same in return.
13. If you take things for granted, you won't have them for very long.
14. Caring should be demonstrated 365 days a year, not just on holidays.
15. A well-fed child can still be starved for affection.
16. The most important things a child can inherit are fond memories.
17. Sharing an hour of memories with an elder is often better than a week's worth of medicine.
18. The two greatest time savers are saying, "I don't know" and "I was wrong."
19. Watch your children grow, and they will teach you what you've taught them.
20. Never go to bed before settling an argument.
21. There's a difference between nurturing your children and smothering them.
22. Relationships are built on the little things.
23. If we give our children everything, we deprive them of aspirations.
24. Celebrate holidays as a family.
25. Never stop courting your spouse.

  • Good morning everyone!

Well DS had a better nights sleep with his cough and cold so that meant I did, but he woke up at 5 again. Although it is oficially my day for a lie in, OH is full of cold as well so I have let him sleep in and I will be popping back to bed in a couple of hours. He owes me big time for this:rotfl:
I am off into town later to spend £20 pigsback vouchers I have been saving all month for a end of Jan, 3 days till payday treat for me. I will also be buying myself a skipping rope to help with the keep fit, or in my case I should say the start getting fit campaign. :rotfl:
Friends are round for lunch later, so I am going to be preparing jacket spuds and salad in a bit, and doing a general tidy and clean. Thanks for a lovely start to the day N9eav and I hope work goes ok.

    Have a great sunday everyone

    Morning all.
N9eav i love numbers 8 and 16 ( for reasons you know) that was a lovley start to my morning, thank you.

Im up to early on a sunday!! Especially as only 2 children here, 2 of the boys slept out at friends house, but ds1 has a footy match and we have to leave a 8.30ish!!
We are off out to play Tansley which is on the way to matlock, so i think it will be quite cold up there. So will be wrapping up warm.

Just sat here trying to wake up!! Then will put lamb in slow cooker, im so glad i prepared it all last night ( before i fell to sleep and missed end of the film i was watching:rolleyes: ).

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning All
Woke up at my normal work time, rarely get past it. Had friends round for a late tea last night, she had lost her Mum on Monday, and needed to just chill out a little, so just eat, talked and half hearted watched the box together.

As Sarah Kennedy puts it "I must do my piles today" (paperwork). So if you see me lurking too often today then give me a reminder!

    Have a good Sunday all.

Just a good morning all, not much to say as I'm back to bed to cough the morning away, then I might well spend the afternoon coughing. For the evening I thought I might do a bit of coughing.

    I have a cough. :D

Thanks for the 25, a better start to my day than being self pitying.

Best wishes to all, good luck to all of the footballers.
