You could use the £20 as a payment and that would definitely count0 -
Well today has been a mixed one for me! On the good side, I was at work nearly all day so couldn't go shopping, and earned some extra cash! On the bad side I did spend a tenner on food & coffee and stuff to see me through the day :undecided I only got paid yesterday and I don't normally work a full day on a Saturday, so I hadn't planned out anything to take with me and the lazy temptation of just buying something was there - I was already there though when I decided how bad an idea that was so was a bit stuck. Ah well, at least I'll know for the next time that I need to do some forward planning I guess.
To make myself feel better about that I sent another £50 to my credit card so it's not a total write-off today, then had tea and watched 2 Twilight movies at my mums tonight for a free night-in!!
Sooo tomorrow I need to go into town to return a couple of dresses - bought 3 online so I could try them on at home and see which one would be best and definitely only need one so the other two are going back, then me & OH are going to the cinema (mostly paid for by leftover xmas giftcard!) and possibly getting a Nando's (20% NHS discount!) so tomorrow should be fairly cheapish. After that I'll have another look at my bank - but I think that until the 1st I can't do a lot as I'm waiting for bills to go out and OH money to go in and stuff - but I'm sure even I can wait until Thursday :rotfl:I have to say, this is the first month in a LONG time when my wage hasn't been burning a hole in my bank account, and I'm putting a lot of that down to you lot
Blimey that went on a bit! Anyway, to cut a long story short, my new total paid off is:
£200/£1550 (12.90%!!! :T:dance::T:dance:)0 -
Well done rubywhatashmoo. That's a nice big chunk paid off and gone forever :T
I spent a couple of hours sorting through old stuff and listing on eBay. If everything sells then that should be £175 (before fees) off of the credit card! But I'm realistic: the prices I've gone for are "fair" so might not sell. Though I'd try my luck as free listing and if things don't sell then I will re-list at "bargain" pricesStill got more stuff to go through too, which is scary: how much dead money just laying around our homes?
Got a spend day today: baby shower to go to so I've made cakes as my gift (effectively free as already had ingredients) but need to drive out and buy a box for them. Also need to get some bits for the cats from the pet shop. Pretty good overall though, if a goes to plan!

Wow Rubywhatashmoo, you are really steaming ahead now, I'm so impressed!!! :T:T:T Don't worry we all have lazy temptations but the thing to remember is that you probably never even noticed them before as they were just the norm. Now though you recognise them for what they are and so can try to reduce them. We're only human though at the end of the day but I'm glad you're doing loads of other MSE things instead, it will more than make up for it. Well done! xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

I am soooooo guilty of not doing this... Me and my mum alternate the big food shops so it's difficult to do this when my family are just going around the supermarket putting in whatever they like that I have to pay for... I NEED to get my mum meal planning with me so this will stop as I've not saved as much as I'd like this month and the only things that I've really bought are these big bloomin food shops!!!New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Hiya Pie, I agree that maybe the best way for him to get his LBM is for him to see you paying your debts off and how that makes you feel. I don't think you can make him have his LBM and he'd probably just see it as nagging! Just let him watch the changes in you and i'm sure as you get closer to being debt free that he'll want to be too! xxx
Totally agree and I'm in the same position.
You can't force him or he'll resent you. He'll change once he sees you in debt freedom!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

Morning everyone,
Well I've just caught up on what I've missed (which took me a while lol).
Since joining, I feel like im obsessed with not spending money. Ok Ive still been buying my fags everyday, but yesterday I realised I've got that bad I really didnt want to buy my food shopping or even put petrol in my car!!!!! hahahaha. but i was very near to not gettin off the supermarket carpark due having no petrol in the car and would have been starving in I didnt buy food lol. I even stopped myself buying things that had gone up in price!!!
My sealed pot is also full!!! so going to count whats in there later and pay that off a debt tomorrow.
Oh one last thing, dont now if anyone on here would be able to help me, but Ive been thinking about my debt and to be honest a lot of it is about 4/5 years old! Do you think its a good idea to contact the debters and ask if they would give me a lower pay now figure. if that makes sense. so that if they give me a smaller total to pay asap it would lower my debt and I could pay it off quicker seens as the debts so old. OR would this still leave outstanding debt on my credit record :undecided.
Well I'm off to clean up, do my new excercise dvds (cost me under £10 for 2 brand new, and with postage from amazon), Put items on ebay and then go for lunch at moms.

393 days is only £3.44 a day
I was really good with food shopping this week - I actually went through Sains, MrT & A$DA and added everything to a basket on each to see which was cheapest - which took quite a while because I've only ever used A$DA before and you have to search differently - but whatever! MrT was cheapest, plus I got a £10 off voucher for it being my first shop and a fiver from Quidco so I went with them!
So this morning I need to crack on with taking photos of the big heap of ebay stuff I've got hanging around my bedroom, then getting the front room ready for my xmas tree going up!!
