The "Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2012" challenge

Hello recurrent-ostrich, seriousDFW, hazelc welcome to the challenge
Hazel, I know what you mean, but surely aiming to be debt free so you can have savings that will help if those situations arise is better than fearing it happening? I've managed to save up with my sealed pot and buffer fund enough to pay for my car tax without downgrading my lifestyle. Just having a goal, whether you achieve it, is better than none because as long as you pay off even £1 between now and christmas 2012, that's £1 less than without a goalDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I have decided I should treat all my moneymaking schemes like a job. Ebay is next. I have been huffing and puffing about this for weeks. So if I was doing my propper job and I didn't do it I wouldn't be paid and I have realised that this is just the same:o
So I am on my lunch break:D (1 hour allowed, I still have a further 45 minutes in which I shall put some washing on start dinner and maybe hoover if I have time) Then I am back to work until 4pm
Am I being a little sad in my approach to this:rotfl:
I don't think ur being sad at all, i think this is a very disciplined approach and it is a BLOODY good point to make!! I am always telling myself this and I do it for a while and then get slack again. You are right, right,RIGHTI am inspired by you

Hey Everyone!
Im new to this site but I'd love nothing more than to be debt free for next Xmas so could I take part too?
I currently have a total debt of £14,247Im going to try and pay a little bit this side of Xmas but with 2 small children this time of year kind of takes up every spare penny! As long as my debt doesn't go up then I'll be happy.
How often should I update my total debt? Thanks! Good luck everyone! The "Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2012" challenge - #51 - £1,795.40/£14,247Weight Loss Challenge - #51 - 4lbs/35lbs0 -

Kerry thanks for your reply,I'm sorry i should have also mentioned that i do continually strive to be debt free but it never happens for the reasons i have stated plus i am on the dole..Believe me or not but i actually find it quite exciting and challenging fighting off my debts even though i know they will never be clear.Savings is out of the question as there isnt enough spare to do this, otherwise i would have done so.....been there tried it, didnt work.To be honest I dont and wont beat myself up because of debt.It isnt good for my health.I know my creditors WILL get their money as and when they get it.But then again who can tell,I just might have them all clear by.....................................................hmmm! sometime.I do have the goal at least, I just dont have the goal date and time.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

My dfw thing of the day.... entered competitions to win a bed from the shop I want to buy my bed from. Fingers crossed I win, then I won't have to actually buy the bed. Alternatively, have decided to take the bed that's currently in my shared house to my new flat... it's not the landlords and the next person to take my room doesn't want it. Or... freecycle for a bed.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
