The "Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2012" challenge
Comments
-
Hi All
Can I join please? I know I won't be debt free but next Christmas but my aim is to get rid of one my by credit cards (the biggest one!) so that's £6500. I still have a personal loan that I will be paying for 2 more years that I got to pay for my wedding and I STILL have my student overdraft although I am now paying for it!) and another credit card! Scary!
I have started trying to earn a little spare cash over the last week or so that is going towards Christmas presents rather than increasing my debt more but when Jan comes I need to focus on the credit card. At least I don't have a wedding and my hubbies 30th to worry about this year so hopefully I can focus solely on the debt!
Here's hoping that I may be able to start thinking about saving for a house by the end of 2012!!!
x

- Have cancelled my gym membership
- £8.09 in my sealed pots so far (only done a week, so not too bad)
- Feeling SUPER positive and so grateful for this website to help keep my focused. Doing things on my own never works! :rotfl:
For postage try these links:

http://web.anglia.ac.uk/estates/downloads/Airmail_Prices_A4_11.pdf
I add roughly 30p for an envelope (it's going to cost me £29.99 for 100 plastic envelopes that will fit the stuff in), 20p for paypal fee and then I round to the nearest 50p. So for example... item is 200g in weight, first class post I charge £2.50 that's £1.96 for postage + packaging. No idea how other people do their postage, but this seems reasonable to me. I also have a micropayments account with paypal, so my paypal fee for items under £10 is cheaper, but over £10 it's more expensive than a normal paypal account.snoopyfan28 wrote: »hi everyone
im new to the site, this is my first post.
please could you put me on your list for £8000.
have been thinking about this for months, but didnt know where to start. i have a loan for £7500 and £500 to the bank of mam and dad.
iv just started ebaying, an im looking in selling some hand made stuff at local craft/church fairs but not had much luck so far.
Welcome onboard. You've made the biggest step, and we're all here to support and encourage.Welcome to the team snoopyfan28! I'll add you to the 2nd post.
If there are any questions or tips/advice then please just ask the group, you'd be surprised at how invaluable some of their ideas are! I joined MSE in 2008 I think but only had my LBM in Oct 11. I joined a lot of the challenges and read A LOT of articles, diaries and posts. Completely immersed myself in MSE but didn't want to wait for January until the 2012 challenges started so decided to start my own to keep my motivation up! xxx
I found 1p on the floor by the cash point :T Also Budgens had 2 large rolls for 20p, so cut them in half and that's 4 rolls for my lunch this week... which will be the 6 tins of Baxters 400g soup for £4. Chinese and Budgens each gave my £2 coins, so they're going in my pot. I also checked each of the "reduced" sections in the shop but there was naff all there, booo! I never checked them before, now I don't leave the shop without checking.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
