recurrent-ostrich, but just think it's never going to get any higher than that now =) If you think from the point of view that you've got past the worst part, the rest is sunny & rosey albeit a bit of a tough mountain you will reach the top =)

    Well done seriousdfw that's awesome.

I've just thrown £36.68 in my attempt to pay the c/c in full before I use it for bills. Just hoping this method works. It's making me feel ill thinking about how much I pay in interest each month, it's roughly £80ish and I didn't know this until two seconds ago. Woooooah! That's what could be my food shopping for the month *gulp*

    Hi everyone,

I found this forum and this is a great idea!! This is exactly what I was looking for and is just the kind of push i need. Can you sign me onboard too. Cannot wait to clear my debtby xmas 2012. What a great feeling that will be!

Can you put me down for £5230

    Lloyds overdraft £2500
    Lloyds credit card £450
    Lloyds loan £2280

Cannot wait to get the ball rolling to try to clear this by xmas 2012!
Will be a fantastic feeling when it clears:beer:
  • One idea that works for me is that if you have a 16.9% APR CC, for example, when you pay a bit of it off imagine it's going into a 16.9% APR savings account. Mathematically it's the same, but it feels more productive when I think of it that way. The more you pay off, the more it snowballs, and eventually the balance will disappear! Hopefully by Christmas 2012 :D

    Magic.

    Good evening everyone

I paid a cheque for £102.31 straight into credit card today! Received from music magpie, we got rid of loads of stuff! So my total is now....

    £149.42/£9,793.81!

This thread is brilliant, love seeing everyone's totals going down and welcome to all the newbies!

  • My time challenge will be to leave work by 1800 - that means out in the car park, not shutting down.

Thanks Kerri, fab idea and should help me tackle a bad habit!

  • This challenge is certainly spurring me on....

I can announce that I have so far paid:

    £100.03 / £17630.02

I think that is 0.56%.... but please correct me if I'm wrong, maths was never my strong point!!!

I am really proud of myself so far, although I'm only making small extra payments on top of my direct debits.... every penny counts :rotfl:
  • And I've just thought, if I can make that kind of payment just 200 more times before next Christmas I will have more than completed my challenge.....

Once again - I think I've calculated that right!!
