OCD got the better of me and I had to round off freemans, so that's £4.80 on there for the moment, although my total is still higher than when they whacked the interest on.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Welcome parsniphead there's lots of ideas here and elsewhere for how to make it an achievable goal. Even if we don't all get there by Christmas 2012, we'll still be one step closer than beforeDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Can i have a rant please?
We moved into our property on 30th Sept and contacted council tax then, they said it would take a while to be sorted, so i have put to one side the amount per month needed, figuring out the annual bill from the website, halved, then split between 5 equal payments, seeing as you only pay for 10 months a year, saving that figure for the past 2 months.
Well the bill came today, the figures are what i worked out, but, they want the whole lot by Jan 1st, as feb and march are the months you dont pay!!! By that point intime, we will only have 3 months worth of the monthly bill, not the full 5, and at £178 a month, thats no small amount of money to try and find, over christmas, in 5 weeks.
I might just go sit and cry:j Aug 2011 took the big jump onto the property ladder WoooooooooTs!! :j

Can you ask them if you can pay over 5 months? Explain the situation about your finances. I asked to pay mine over 12 months and it's fine with our council. It's always worth an ask, don't crythere is always a way around! xx

Oh no louisa that's horrid. Can you try calling them explaining the situation and coming up with a payment plan so you can pay it off? Maybe explain to them that you have other debts that you need to pay and that you have been trying to resolve this but they didn't get back to you for ages?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Yeah Louisa i agree with these guys, I'm sure if you call them and tell them what you have been trying to do it will be fine. Most people wouldn't even have set the money aside. I'm sure if you ask they will be able to help. OOOOOhhh I love a good rant, don't worry about ranting on here, I enjoy reading themDon't turn a slip up into a give up

even if it were just one month without payment with us being here 6 months instead of the full year it would help!! I shall phone them tomorrow whilst my boys are in school, far too much stress with them at home to try! and hope they can help!
If not, i *could* take the money out of my ISA which has my wedding money in, id rather not touch it though, but i guess i could, i didnt even think of that in my first postlol
