lidovico - are you not bored yet? I was bored of your replies a while back. You seem to know best in the way eBay works so I will let you get on with it.
PS: Poundland is a 45 minute round drive for me (not forgetting parking and petrol costs & wear and tear on my shoes - maybe something I should add on to my P&P charges) but I do not go out of my way just to buy packaging. I simply buy it when I am passing and sometimes stock up on extra so I do not run out.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
This is aimed an no one in particular, and I should probably start a new thread for this but.....
Since I started posting on the eBay forum I have noticed lot's of people post their opinion as fact, not just on this thread but on loads of threads. Please remember people that the only fact your opinion proves is the fact that you have an opinion. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

Unless it is a true fact of course.0 -

I noticed that too when I started posting on the eBay board. You will always find someone who thinks they know best and are the pefect seller. They tend to turn a simple disagreement into arguments and going lower by name calling.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
"turn a simple disagreement into arguments and going lower by name calling."
It may be a simple disagreement to you by if the OP followed your advice and gave a seller a low score over a few pence it could cause them issues with their account if a couple of people of your opinion have already done the same.
I don't proclaim to be the perfect seller but I've purchased a couple of thousand items on eBay and sold over one hundred thousand items with out many problems at all. I will feel free to disagree with you and point out the weaknesses of your arguments when it could affect someone else's ability to sell on eBay.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

And if we all followed your advice and added packaging costs to P&P charges (as well as petrol, wear and tear on shoes etc) we would end up with buyers that rate low on the stars resulting in selling restrictions, after all buyers expect to be charged the cost of the stamp.
I am going to agree to disagree with your advice/opinions because I am bored and your turning a disagreement into an argument, even going as low as name calling.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

I am not a scholar of language but it seems to me that opinion and fact are almost always mutually exclusive. In order to have an opinion there has to be a contrary opinion which means there has to be choice. If there is choice then fact hasn't been established.
We may all have an opinion on whether David Cameron is a good Prime Minister but I can state categorically as fact that he is the Prime Minister.
In this thread we have 2 people arguing their opinion about the best way to charge packaging. Both will do it as they see fit but I doubt whether either can be proven to be right as every buyer is as different as every seller. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
Grudging a seller because they have (possibly) made a 'profit' of (whatever pence) and giving them poor feedback is the mindset of a very narrowminded and spiteful. I really dont understand the logic of jealousy of buying something at a price I already knew in advance that I accepted. The reality is, I suspect, that buyers are so used to the system being geared in their favour that trying to extort the seller has became the culture. Do what I say - refund me.... or else.... I will ruin your business by negative feedback. I guess it is barely one step above the ones who steal by claiming items havent arrived. I have nothing but disgust and contempt for such penny loving misers of life.
(not personally against the OP, im talking about in general terms).0 -
