Has anyone tried ROSSPA? (It's in the Handy Links in first post.)

I was going to ask the same question! :D

They look quite good but worried about spendng money and waiting for ever for the goods / most of stuff being out of stock after ordering (bad memories of early days with Approved Food!!)

I have just posted my final 2011 result on the old thread - and am feeling very proud, also grateful (as I said there) for the support that's kept me on the straight and narrow. I'll repeat here that I came in at £1829.42 under budget !!

    !

    Wow! Really well done, Winchelsea

Good morning :-) need to catch up on thread xx had some bad news yesterday.. OH suspended on job pending investigation :-(( so very worried today.. and hes gutted walking around lookin real sorry for himself. Cut a long story short once they have him in and do an investigation all should be ok*prays* (water board tried to say he had left a pollution) but was ok because a lorry was already on site. Does anyone know how long a suspension can last? hes on full pay while they sort things. Not what i need when we are about to have the baby*days away* :-(( Absolutely terrified, cus you dont know how these things are going to map out.
On a frugal note, we are off shopping and want a change.. aldi or lidl?? we normally shop in asda. Thanks everyone xxx

Sorry to read this, Cherryjack. Hope everything works out ok.

Well didn't have the best of days 'money wise' yeasterday - but had a fantastic shopping day with mum!

I knew it was going to 'bad' on the cash as I have two weddings coming up - the first next weekend. Decided to wait for the sales to buy outfits in order to at least save a bit of cash. So that part of my plan worked at least. Also put my xmas money toward the total cost, so in the end £60 for 2 dresses, 1 cardi, 1 pair of shoes, 1 belt. Not too bad ! Could have been a whole lot worse!!

I plan for the rest of the week to be less eventfull!

    :( That's awful!
    x

What's even worse is that it takes something outrageous (like age of people involved, or how depraved the act was) for this area to b shocked by murder.
Found out today that 2 people where murdered and an attempted murder all in the same night and around the same area. And they wonder why everyone is trying to move away!

I do live in a lovely place, its just the wider area has seen a lot of economic downturn since the 70/80's, we have generations of families out of work, tribe/gang mentality became the norm for a lot of sub areas.
It was getting better, but I can see it degenerating a lot further now that our 2 governments have/are effectively abandoning us.

Aiming for yet another no spend day. Hopefully today I get the downstairs sorted.

On all but the last you want to quote, click the multiquote_off.gif icon rather than quote.gif

On the last one, click on quote.gif as normal, and you'll get a reply box with all the posts you flagged quoted in it

Not sure if it works across different pages though - not something I've ever tried ;)

Met my mate for breakfast (her treat) and had a good natter, she says my chutney was fab. which is good news as this was the first time of making it! Will have a taste at the end of the month as its been brewing for 3 months so far! wondered round the CS and bought nothing :D bought xmas cards reduced to 50p so ready for christmas now and into tesco and bought some cream to make a cheesecake with (68p) so not a massive spend day :D.

Certainly makes you think before you spend doing the challenges. Tried to sort out the broadband and phone yesterday but long waits on the phone so will try again this afternoon after doing the ironing :(

I just ordered a mums family organiser calendar for £4.19 and as soon as I had pressed the 'place order' button I suddenly thought do I really need this!! I've already got a calendar which is perfectly capable of doing the job! So I've emailed the company and they are cancelling the order for me phew! :j

Day at home today so NSD. Going to get kids ready for school, keep on clearing out and tidying up. Stew for tea with whoopsied meat.
Also start of "diet" today, need to lose at least 2 stone. I am using a online diary thing called myfitnesspal because I can also get it on my phone. A few of us where I live are starting our own little weighing-in club on Monday so no one has to pay £5 a week to go to a slimming group. The local pub have kindly let us use their front lounge to meet.
Have a good day everyone, hopefully we've had the worst of this weather now x

My mum did this with her sister and they both put money in a pot for every lb they lost. When they got to their goal they had it back to spend on new clothes. I think they put £5 for each lb. Gave them a bit more of an incentive.
    Good luck with it.
