Hi everyone.
It's been quite a good day today. Started with a lie-in (9am) and no need to rush around as eldest DD went to orchestra with her dad, whilst youngest DD had a 'pyjama morning' with me.:D I needed a lie-in as I didn't get home until 1am after my meal out with some friends, which was a right old laugh! :rotfl:
My youngest DD had a party this afternoon so after dropping her off I went to HB and Netto to pick up a couple of bargains.
My mum phoned before to see if we wanted their TV as they want to buy one of those flashy, slim new ones. So of course I said I'd love their old one which is only 3 years old and it's a wide screen one. Our TV is about 10 years old and is on its last legs!
Blade 2 is on later so I'll do the ironing whilst watching it.
Have a good one!0 -
Hiya! :hello:
Well, what can I say. I went to do a transport survey - start 11 am, finish 16:30, at five separate Underground station.
Ok, so the first station cannot be done because the Station Supervisor is not about and I need his signature before starting. Since it's all strictly timed, I leave the station undone - which is what I'm supposed to do. The next three stations cannot be done because the Circle Line is completely suspended, and the District Line is suspended in the stretch I have to go to. So the next three stations cannot be done. The next station - no Supervisor, so I just leave.
Moral of the story: I went to do my work but it could not be done. I still get paid though!
Soooo... on the way home I went to spend some M&S vouchers I've had for a while, and bought lots of nice foodstuffs. All 3 for 2's, so I got a full week's supply and more.
AND yesterday I received my £10 Waitrose voucher from Pigsback :j
Now for a quiet weekend.....Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

I have just been paid the biggest INSULT ever, I prepared and cooked a full roast chicken dinner for friends of OH's they were asked for 5.30 to eat at 6pm, when they had not appeared by 6.30 and the meal was well on its way to being ruined OH phoned, they were still at home.......said we had asked then 7.30 for 8.00!!!!!! No way said OH we never eat that late............I feel absolutley gutted...................and insulted. I have cooked for many well known people and never has anyone not turned up for a meal.......I know one thing, they will never grace my table now and nor will I grace theirs....I am not a naturally vendictive person but..................there is only so much one can take. It was a financial outlay I could ahve done without...ok I do not have to cook dinner tomorrow there are plenty of left overs, but that is not really the point, the gentleman checked with OH on Wednesday...... after the other events of the week I am feeling very depressed and very upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So upset I drank half a bottle of wine and ate half a box of peppermint creams we bought to have with coffee after dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am now about to drink the cappachino we were going to give them. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Am off to go dog walking in a minute - have done 7666 of my 10,000 steps so far!:D
Take care all and hugs to anyone who needs one xxxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello everyone:)
Been to the market and got lychees, about 4lb bananas and a box of plums for £2.40That will last til monday LOL.
GOt super bargain LOADS of stuff from sainsburys enough to last all week for just over £7 including a chicken for tomorrow. Going to plan I am only buying shop things if they are the economy range or RTC.
DH made a lovey pie for tea, lamb, a recipe from one of the Hugh F_W books. He made beautiful pastry and put a dalek and a cyberman on the top with the spare pastry
Boys have played all day with their toys from poundland - ds1 has toy soldiers and ds2 has a listening device and - horror of horrors- it works!!! Wearthe headphones and you can hear the neighbours! Not sure if thats legal!
DD is at her daddy's feeling poorly, as am I but I have been trying to catch up on some paid surveys because it is not in my nature to loll around feeling poorly. I am trying to take my mind off it. DH is watching the football thing where they repeat the action replays (its a man ting I am sure) and hopefully the marbles in a cup reward scheme for the boys will mean I dont spend all morning tomorrow sorting wet bedding :eek:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Evening all, it's been a tiring day today, OH has spent the day sleeping and just getting up for drinks and meals ( compliments of his wonderul wife!!!):rotfl: :rotfl:
The kids haven't been too bad but keeping them entertained has been hard.
Made the stew and it is gorgeous, they've all eaten but I will have mine later with a nice cold lager when I have cleaned this pigsty up. (done upstairs this morning when ds2 was having a nap).
I have arranged with my sis to take the kids to school and nursery next week as OH really isn't up to it and I will get them ready and fed before I walk to work at 6.20am    . Then all he has to do is keep an eye until she picks them up at 8am. I will clean and sort out tea when I get home and then help get the kids.
It's going to be tough but to have the weekends off so that OH isn't left with them will mean this routine Mon - Fri for at least the next 2 weeks if not permenantly.
Anyway, rambling again. Off to clean as that beer is calling my name.
Good night all, Smoky. xxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Evening everybody.
Not had the chance to read through the whole thread but I did see that quite a few seemed to have little ones' birthday parties to arrange! Hope they all went well.csarina wrote:So upset I drank half a bottle of wine and ate half a box of peppermint creams we bought to have with coffee after dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you enjoy the leftovers, csarina, and get the rest of that bottle drunk!I'm off to relax in front of the tv so goodnight all. Hopefully I'll get chance to have a proper browse on OS tomorrow (If OH doesn't start moaning about the amount of time I spend on the pc again!)

Evening everyone
Hugs Csarina, some people are so ignorant! I hope you can salvage something from it.
Hugs Penny Pincher, I really hope your leg improves. My left ankle is full of metal from an accident 3 years ago, butI do have reasonable mobility now. The 2 months in plaster and on crutches were a nightmare, so I really feel for you.
Birthday wishes to everyone celebrating today.
Crack of dawn start here today, making soup at 6.15 this morning  Then DH and I took DDs to swimming and dancing lessons. Dh went to see MiL (thank goodness I missed that one) whilst I took DD1 to the library between her 2 lessons. After lunch, I decided to cut the grass at the back. It's really big so my Dad bought us a ride-on mower :rotfl: which is fab. DH monopolised it, but he decided to sort out the garage so we can actually get a car in it, so I got to do the whole lot myself, and very good it looks too (if I say it myself!) The DDs were well impressed.
Then I cooked a roast meal, which we washed down with some of the home-brewed cider we made in September. We've been here for almost 5 months, there are still boxes to unpack, but we have 15 more gallons of home-made cider from the apples we found on the tree when we arrived. Somehow, the priorities changed
DDs really loved the music centre last night and can't wait to go back. They moaned & groaned beforehand, but I'm delighted they enjoyed it. I made some of my best mates at music centres/orchestras so I'm very happy that they are so positive (DH and I met at an orchestra).
OK, going to clear the meal debris. I'll try to get on here earlier tomorrow...
