Anyone know if I can freeze homemade gnocchi ok? Then do you defrost before cooking or just cook longer?

you can freeze anything, next doors cat, car keys a body.

the qeustion is will it defrost and still be in the same state?

I wouldn't cook them from frozen, but i reckon they'd survive a defrost, and cook from there....

If you mean potato gnocchi*, then yes, you can open freeze it and cook it from frozen. By open freezing, I mean spread the gnocchi out on a tray so that each piece isn't touching, place that in the freezer and, once the individual gnocchi are frozen, bag and tag as usual.

To cook: dump the frozen gnocchi into a saucepan full of boiling water. When it floats on the surface, it's done.

    * Potato Gnocchi recipe (as taught to me by an Italian lady I worked with): blend a pound or so of mashed potato with a beaten egg and sufficient flour to make a good dough. Take a handful of the dough and roll into a rope about the width of your thumb. Cut the rope into inch-long pieces. Cook as above and serve with your favourite sauce.

Great, thank you. Yes, I did mean potato, I always make too much mashed potato and thought it might be a good way to use the extra.

Hi, looking for some help, am making empire biscuits today. My recipe says cornflour but i have run out, I have 00' flour and sainsburys sauce flour and the usual sr and plain flour. I need to put plain flour in it anyway but am reluctant to make them without cornflour, any ideas what to do? thanks in advance for any thoughts ;)

Do you have any custard powder? That's the same as cornflour but with added vanilla. In fact I've seen recipes for these biscuits which specify custard powder rather than cornflour. I was thinking of making some one day.

I recently saw a link to a video of an air hostess showing how to pack a suitcase for 10 days or so, but now I can't find it and I didn't save it (stupid me!). I'm not sure which thread it was on - either the grocery challeng or maybe here. I can't find it on YouT... Can anyone help?
