not going to bother writing the same as everyone else everyone else has covered it, but the basics is yes you are over reacting. the world has changed and sex is now no longer a dirty little secret that is never spoken about.
really i am a 28yo man, my mum and dad where generally very strict and reacted very much as you seem to, i lost my virginity just after my 14th birthday, and had been looking at !!!!!! for a couple of years, as had all of my friends, well when we could find some, and when we did we always shared our !!!!!! find with our friends which of course would gain us their 'respect', but of course i never talked to my parents about anything sex related because of the way i knew they would react.
as someone has pointed out there are a very different set of rules for respect for boys than there are for girls, and sex is one of the big ones, and since you have already gotten angry about something so 'small' as a throw away comment at school, do not ever expect him to come to you about anything sex related in the future.
EDIT you also seem to have missed quite an important thing in all this as well - he classed being a !!!!!! star / !!!!!! king as a negative aspect of the person’s character, and considering other possible things he could have picked for negative aspects, as he will have heard about them since they come on the news, say a rapist? A murderer? would they have been better?Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I think you're over-reacting a little. It sounds like he perfectly grasped what the aim of the exercise was and if he wanted to get a few laughs at the same time there's nothing wrong with that. It sounds like his teacher was perhaps suggesting extremes. I think very few 13 year old boys wouldn't know what a '!!!!!! king' was so by reacting like this you're just making it into a bigger deal then it should be - he was referring to it as a negative point so it's not like he was bigging it up or anything. Sounds like he has a natural gift for English, the best people in the field are those who can be a little different and often controversial! I'm sure he'll get a good grade and possibly carry it on further. You should be proud of him.0

Firstly, huge thanks to everyone that has posted!
I have taken all comments on board.
No i havent phoned the school neither am i going to.
I did (and still do) feel it was an 'inappropriate' choice for an English exam and have told ds this, but will chalk it up as experience
.
Like a previous poster said it's one to tell on graduation day
.
I havent gone mad or told my ds off, i vented on here last night to see what others thought.
I did believe that if comments had been made in front of the teacher then the teacher wouldve been the one to dismiss straight away.
I've spoken to my ds before he went to school this morning, gave him a huge cuddle and praised him again for the effort and thought that went into this piece of work the last thing i want to do is be a parent that ds cannot confide in.
We are very close and yes this did throw me off kilter as it was the last thing i would ever have expected!
If you knew my ds then i'm sure you'd understand lol
(yes yes... sweet inocent etc hahahahahaha)
I am a firecely proud mum and have a relationship with my children that they can turn to me no matter what (they normally do
).
Again thank you guys, very much appricated for putting things into prospective, i knew i could count on you.
Case closed!

You have overreacted and you will alienate him if you keep on about it. Lighten up and see it for what it is: imaginative and funny.0

Glad you've seen the light.
As a retired English teacher I loved having lively oral coursework in class. Pupils often take roles.
BTW: at 13, in Y9 surely he is not doing GCSE. Do you still have SATS in England?Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I expect he did it as a bet if he knew what questions were likely to be asked. kidds can view previous exam papers
If you dont think a 14 year old knows all about the 'seedier' side of life then you are very naieve. Just take a look at some of the programmes on TV.
Fair play to him for being confident enough to answer the questions and use some imagination.
I would have laughed my socks off0
