I can see why you say others find your son a golden child. So do I, He is an original thinker and is funny!
Its a shame you dont see him that way - you seem to prefer him to 'conform to the norm'.

Perhaps, OP you just dont understand him? try supporting him - He did his best for the project and seems to have had grief off you because you are confusing knowing about subjects such as !!!!!! Stars with having low morals?

Yes you are over-reacting. He's 13, not 7. 13 year old lads joke about !!!!!! stars and slappers. I presume your son watches TV, has access to the internet, has friends and knows where to find out things.

In his oral exam, he had to think on his feet, make a case and make his presentation interesting for the people who would vote him in or out of the cave. Sounds like he did a good job.

I'm interested in why you should think he's being outrageous, rather than normal. Why are you cross with him? How else is he going to make the transition from teen to adult when his parents are unapproachably po-faced? I think you need to back off a bit.

I was going to call the school tomorrow and ask to speak to the english teacher but its so hard to get a call back.
I wasnt going to make a fuss (or cause any agro for the teacher) i wanted to make them aware that i was unhappy - that was all :( and to find out who made the comment in the first place.
Surely if it was a remark made in jest then ds shouldve realised it was just a joke???? not to actually write it in???

    Thanks again for the replies.

Well i did ask and he kind of knew - sort of like :rotfl:
I think you've just hit the nail on the head.
Guess i was so suprised as it was the last thing i was expecting to come out of him :o.

I know he is growing up - shame he dont show it the rest of the time.
We've been to dd's fireworks display at the school this evening and ds wanted a light up sword that 4-6 year olds were running around with.
How things have changed. We were asked at school to name our favourite television programme, we weren't even allowed to say TV. I named a popular series, was disciplined for my cheek and had to rewrite it, as my favourite being Panorama. I'd never even seen it!

Are you really cross with him about something else, so that this is more of a trigger than a cause for your anger iyswim? I ask because this seems a disproportionate response to a teen's risque joke, and because of the "golden child" comment. Maybe you simply don't share his sense of humour and he gets up your nose at times? That's not unusual in a teen-parent relationship, but if that's what's going on, try to see it for what it is.

Why should he have? A teacher makes a suggestion and This ONE child out of the class seizes on it..............That ONE child to my mind is outstanding.

he grasped that a group may have to make a choice between outward respectability and a real asset to the cave dwellers - and an unfortunate hobby! on the one hand they have a surgeon - but he likes his sex! oh dear - what would YOU vote??????????

LMAO - This child is priceless - you should be dead proud of him OP!

Oh, come on - half the population aged from 35 - 54 would run around making zhhhhhhhhhhhing noises and funny breathing sounds if they could get their hands on a replica lightsabre!

You're overreacting. He was near to the knuckle funny - like the best comedians. The class loved it and he has probably passed his exam as a result of it.

I defy any male over the age of 11 not to hear the word ORAL and not think of the P word at the same time. Especially to do it without sniggering as well.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
