Could you do the application at your local library - normally they allow internet access?

I could try the library, but they often restrict how long you're allowed on a PC, and I wouldn't want to rush it... Perhaps I'll invite myself round to my parent's for Sunday lunch...

The weirdest thing happened last night, which makes me think I maybe have finally got DFW ways completely into my life! I was thinking about the job I'm going to be applying for, and the fact that it's only guaranteed until March 2008 - and I started working out figures...

If I got the job & started around the beginning of July, with the extra dosh I should be able to pay off all my debts by October - then I would be able to save up 3 months basic living money by the end of March easily!

It's not so much the amount I could save, but more that my attitude is now focussed on saving the dosh up rather than 'what can I treat myself to?'

Is this what growing up is about???

    :j:

Just had a very pleasant surprise when checking my online banking - my main bank account has received credit interest for the first time in years! Only 3p, but hey it's still exciting to me!

Six months after I moved into my flat... and I've finally got the internet connected, yay :j

For once, something actually went well - a slight problem with the set up, I phoned them, and the woman in the call centre was really helpful and nice (amazing isn't it?) Unfortunately I was out last night, so didn't get to use it really, but hey!

Also, my voucher arrived for the free haircut from herbal essences, so will get that booked in soon as I am waaaay overdue a snip!

A good day all round, and now it's Friday!

It's so nice to be able to come on here at the weekend rather than waiting trying to sneak on during work hours! So quick update...

Had a very busy weekend, out Friday & Saturday and then had a date yesterday (was initially going to be today, but as we were both free on a non-work night thought that would be a plan!) And I still have £10 left in my purse :j

The date was cool (haven't been on one in a while) and I like this guy, but I'm not sure how he feels - kept dropping a few odd sounding comments into the conversation like "I like you, but don't feel that I know you" any male opinions gratefully received! Annoyingly with a couple of single people's very busy schedules, doesn't look like we'll be able to meet up again for another couple of weeks - I wonder if this is just a non-starter based on us never actually managing to get together!

Oh well, gonna do not much for the rest of the day I think, just surf around and prepare for going back to work (boo!)

Just got my payslip, and this is the first one since my payrise without OT as well, and it's £16 more than I'd estimated it at :j

Been trying to work out my June budget, and slightly worried about a friends hen weekend/2nd hen night & wedding - I'm tempted to allow myself a bit more in my 'spends' budget on the basis that I might then have a bit left over at the end of the month, or do I try and keep it to my normal amount?

The OD will definitely be wiped out on Thursday when the money hits the bank account, but I'll only be able to overpay on the CC by £120 from my salary (though still waiting for some cash to come in from IR, switching utilities, quidco etc)

Hmmm, perhaps as I've now got internet at home I should make June my Ebay month - I only ever managed to list a few things before as hated coming into the office at the weekend.

Slightly silly maybe, but I realised that I was about to make my 1000th post, and I thought I'd like it to be in my diary!

Since joining up last September I've had so much support from everyone on here, and you have all saved me from much more grief in the future. I was lucky enough that a combination of finding this site and reading about banks withdrawing ODs was enough to give me my LBM - otherwise I would have carried on making the minimum payment each month to my CC, probably consolidated into a loan, then run it up again until I couldn't meet the monthly minimum payments.

So, with my 1000th post I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that's supported me on this road, kicked me back into shape in January when I fell off the wagon, and generally meaning I don't want to blow the budget cos I'd feel awful having to confess to you all! :o
