I'm a little worried about you canceling the overdraft as you could get walloped by fees if you go even a penny OD. Would it not be safer to leave a buffer of £50 on there?
Other than that, well done you! What did you decide about the shoes? I think you should wear out most of your other shoes 1st. Best thing to do is to have 1 pair trainers, 1 pair heels (maybe 1 light 1 dark?) and 3 pairs flats. Then you have shoes for all occasions and won't get smelly feet as you'll be able to alternate work shoes. BUT- Don't go out and buy more yet!!!

Hi Kaz,
I decided against the shoes - although I like them, a couple of days to ponder did the trick & I decided that not only did I not need them, but I don't particularly want them anymore either. This is a bit of a breakthrough for me :j
I think you're right about not cancelling the OD immediately - I was working out some figures last night based on my estimated pay this month, and it's going to be tight to be honest to get the OD paid off and make the minimum payment to the CC. I've got some stuff on Ebay and have some more to list, am waiting on about £50 from the taxman and £50 from Virgin, so if it all comes in it will be fine but otherwise it's gonna be touch & go...Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Got the payslip from my main job today (still waiting for the one from my 2nd job) and the good news is that I'd forgotten about 3 hours of overtime :j which means my salary this month is VERY healthy.
From my main salary I can put £577 towards my debts, I've estimated my 2nd job one to come in at about £55, plus about £5 from stuff on Ebay that's finishing today (not much, but every little helps) and £50 from the IR for my work mileage means a grand total of...
£687 for debts
All that overtime & stupidly long hours in March has finally paid off!
Still waiting on my M&S card to arrive so I can figure out how much I can BT, and the £50 from Virgin/NTL, but hey, can't have everything!
I also switched our gas & electric yesterday (just before British Gas announced another price cut!) so will be getting £30 cashback from there!

Yesterday just kept getting better & better! I went to Boots after work with my £10 voucher from Pigsback to get the Herbal Essences with the free haircut... and it was on BOGOF! So I got a shampoo & conditioner for £3, then decided to treat the myself to a bit of make up with the remaining £7, and got a free gift with that too! All in all I spent 77p, got 43 points, loads of stuff and free haircut!
I then went home I got my payslip for my 2nd job, and I'd underestimated it by £20!
This takes my total to (drum roll please)
£707 off debts in May!
Means my O/D should be down to £100 only before the next payday, so from June I can concentrate on the credit card!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hello again :hello:
Had a wonderful couple of days off, and got my first tan lines of the year :j
Back to the PC this morning, and busy moving money etc etc. I got my M&S card through the other day & they've given me a limit of £2K, so transferring that amount from the HSBC card.
The O/D at the end of the month is currently standing at £154, but that's not yet taking into account my ebay money coming in, the cheque from the IR or the cashback from switching gas & electric as I've not actually received the money yet.
Soooo close to getting sub-£4K, I can't wait!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Got a letter from Egg yesterday offering 0% BT until October as it's my anniversary apparently. The limit is small, all £1400 as I got the card initially when i was at uni & haven't used it since, and the max is 95% of available balance with a 2.5% fee. I've been doing my sums frantically (with the help of the snowball), and I reckon it will save me about £15 in interest if I transfer some from my HSBC card, but I'm a bit worried in case i don't get it paid off before the interest starts going on as it's at 17.9% standard apr
According to the snowball, I still need £600 a month to clear everything by the end of the year, and I can only rely on about £400 from my main salary each month I'm not convinced I'll always manage this, although there is some slack in getting the Egg card cleared in time...Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Well, my Ebay cheques should have cleared today, so that's another £10 to add to the total, and I'm going to come into the office over the weekend to list some more stuff as my ongoing saga of trying to get broadband at home is still rumbling on...
I've also got up to another £10 voucher to come from Pigsback, which I'm going to get a Boots one as I need some bits anyway, then put an extra £10 from my budget into the OD.
Oo, better go and update my sig! If I can just find 13p I'll be below £4K!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
