    Humph!

Just came out of my appraisal... was initially offered only the 3% inflation rise as 'they're not in a position to offer more at the moment as the company is in a state of change'. Managed to get a bit more out of them, difference in take home will be about £60 a month (better than nothing I suppose) and it will be reviewed by the end of May at the latest.

Not sure what to do really, I know the company is going through loads of change, contracts ending, new ones coming in etc so I don't think I'm being entirely fobbed off, but I've definitely worked way above my current salary this year & generated income etc (which is currently paying the senior manager's salaries no doubt!)

I think I'll definitely start looking for other jobs & wait and see I guess!

Ok, deep breath, it's nearly the weekend after all!

Discovered this morning that my one & only pair of jeans that actually fit me have developed a hole, in the worst possible place! Managed to get a couple of cheap pairs at lunchtime from the Next Outlet (got to try them on at home as no changing rooms in there!) so will be no more than £12 by the time I take the others back!

However, I strongly suspect I've got depression, which is not helping at all, though in some ways knowing there's a reason I've been feeling so bad does help. My GP had no appointments for a fortnight (!) so I've got to phone first thing on monday and try and convince the nurse that I am an urgent case and they should shoe-horn me in!

I've got a couple of hours overtime booked in for tonight, which I really don't want to do at the moment but there's no-one else to cover it, it would look really bad on the company etc etc

On the plus side however I've got a very cheap weekend planned - working tonight, friends round tomorrow night & round a friend's on Sunday, so spending should be limited to the bare minimum.

To be honest at the moment I can't even think about all the stuff I should be doing to become debt-free, and I think although I'm going to stick to my budgets etc I'm going to have to forget about the extra cash raising at the moment.

    Hi Storm,
I suggest getting it all out of your head!
It's obviously just all swimming round in there making things worse.
Write it all down and seal it in an envelope.
Then enjoy your weekend! If there is nothing you can do about it right at this moment then there's no point stressing about it!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Don't go out, buy some cheap booze at LIDL's and spend time at home. Are you a member of the library? Lots of books to discover how to live on a tight budget. I see you have no internet access at home - use the library. On :money: threads you will find thousand of ways to organise your budget, recipes for cheap meals, in fact everything to turn you into a money saving hero.

Like any changes in life, it takes time to get used to living on a budget. Keep on in there, your stress maybe that you feel bogged down in debt and that there is no way out. Tell you this, the people who contribute their ideas and experiences on this site are a great support and a source of help you won't find anywhere else.

    How are you storm?

Well done on getting a bit more out of your company. I think you're doing brilliantly but you set a really high goal so don't be worried if you can't reach it. If you're feeling down boost the happy levels by doing some physical activity. Maybe swimming with a friend or a long walk in the country at the weekend.

    Take care of yourself.

    Hi all,

Not managed to get a doctor appointment yet - on Monday I didn't actually feel too bad, and I think I jsut didn't sound desperate enough on the phone! I decided instead to book an appointment with the GP I really like at the practise, even though it's a couple of weeks away as I'd rather see her than some random Dr I don't know (& there's one there I really don't like!)

In terms of money saving, I've kind of given myself a bit of breathing space as this month I'm doing loads of overtime, and even though the dosh won't hit my back account until the end of April I think I've got to loosen up a bit on myself as being out working from 8.30am until 9.30pm I think a takeaway or ready meal is allowed, otherwise I just don't bother eating!

With the job, I'm looking around for something new, but I'm not going to jump too quickly into something unless I'm sure it's right for me. I'm also going to book a load of leave in for the next 6 months so that I've got something to look forward to, and I'll have time to re-charge my batteries.

Oh, and good news - might have internet by tomorrow night! :j

Thanks for all the support guys

Just wanted to say hi. Hope things improve for you soon and we all know how hard you're working. Look after yourself and remember that debt clearing takes time and don't wear yourself out about it if ther's other things going on- you need to take time out for yourself. Maybe get out and enjoy some of the spring weather if it's nice where you are? Take Care.
