Good plan - put them on Amazon now, and ebay in September if you still have them. The beauty of Amazon is you pay nothing if they don't sell, and it's very easy to list too.

Thanks Hypno - I just keep reading and thinking 'it will surely sink in soon, I'm reasonable intelligent surely!', but no luck yet.

I think what worries me most is how organised I'm going to have to be with it all - I'm one of these people that is super-organised all day at work, so at home things can easily slip into chaos!

Plan of action (drum roll please!)

I've invited myself round to my parents for Sunday lunch which is going to get several birds with one stone...

    1. I get to see my family
    2. I get a free enormous lunch, meaning I won't have to eat anything in the evening
    3. I get to pick up all my old textbooks that are sitting round there to try and sell
    4. I'll check through all the 'stuff' I've left there over the years & see if there's anything worth selling - was wondering about some of the old soft toys & things, I know there's definitely a yawning bagpuss, flat eric (remember him?) and a Garfield - might even be a couple of old care bears somewhere...

Money is going to be very tight until payday (next Friday) as most of what I've got left is earmarked for the wedding on Saturday, so I'm intending to spend the evenings I'm not working doing DFW things at home.

Was very pleased with myself as managed to spend less than £20 at the wedding on Saturday - shamelessly guzzled as much of the free booze as possible, so only a couple of drinks & taxi fare got spent!

Signed up to the Egg money manager thingie, so that's £10 towards my Egg card in about a month or so, plus I think I'm even going to have a small amount of 'carry over' when payday comes on Friday :T

Technically I'm 38p OD on my main account, but I'd deliberately left a small facility there so that I could draw out that final tenner when I had £9 left, so I'm not really counting it. It's very strange not having the big OD there - part of me feels I've lost my safety net, but I know it's good that when I go to the cashpoint to check my balance I'm not told that I have over a grand of available funds!

Didn't get much stuff from my parents yesterday as is was pouring wth rain, and I hadn't taken my car round & quite a lot of wine was involved at lunchtime! I have sorted some stuff out though, so hopefully I can just pop in one night this week to get the rest of the stuff I want to Ebay.

Anyway, looking forward to payday on Friday... £440 for debts from my salary :T plus the £10 from Egg is starting on the CCs.

So what is free booze for if it is not for guzzling :D

Just as I think my job is getting better I get kicked in the teeth! Nepotism is alive & well, and whilst most of us here are worried about our jobs even continuing, being told there's no money for pay rises etc there's one family that keep getting promoted (without the jobs being advertised even internally) getting payrises, ever more flexible working arrangements etc etc.

Part of me thinks I should hang on for redundancy as I'll get a reasonable payout having been here for quite a few years now, but the other part of me just wants to burst into tears & storm out right now!

    Aaargh!

Well here's a :grouphug: from me...

If they are crapping on you, why should you do something that puts you in a bad position? Hold out for the redundancy, but stop going for that "extra mile" at work - see if anyone notices - see if you are valued.

Thanks ZTD - what is really annoying is that this morning (before I found out about the latest round of looking after the family!) I volunteered to do an evening event next week (not OT, just time of in lieu)

Also, I don't know for certain that I'll get made redundant - they'll just keep piling the !!!!!! that none of them want to do on me instead (probably in the hope that I'll leave & save them the redundancy money!)

And I was so hopeful after reading my horoscope this morning...

Your emotions should stabilize and you will find that you have more energy to follow through on projects you have in the works. Be aware, however, that there are certain elements to your projects that may be a bit murky and obscure. There is a veil of confusion that is keeping you from seeing the solution. Be aware that you may not be getting the complete facts at this time. Make sure to ask questions about things that are unclear.

I'm a Project Manager, so thought this could be quite apt!

    Payday, hooray! :j

OK, worked my figures out as best I can (I know M&S are changing their minimum payment to 2.5% from 3%, but haven't had the statement yet so based it on 3% for this month)

I've got £283.42 left on the HSBC credit card, which I really want to get cleared before the end of July (i.e. not with July's pay) so that I can concentrate on getting the money together to clear Egg when the 0% period ends and it shoots back up to 17.9%!

I'm going to bank up my change jars this weekend in preparation for the new challenge starting on Sunday, and with PayPal sending me 2 small payments of less than £1 to verify my account, so I'm hopeful to get close to another £10 paid off (I'm hoping they send me 99p, but knowing my luck it'll be a penny!)

Once I've paid off the HSBC card though, I just need another £28.43 and I will have paid off 50% of my debts :T
