So sorry to hear about the job, Storm, but happy that you could take your mind off it a bit in the IOW. Another 'dream' job will come along sometime and next time you'll be really ready and prepared. Good Luck:beer:
You should be really pleased with yourself that your job disappointment didn't derail you from the DFW track. Yes, maybe you spent money but Festivals are never cheap and it's an infrequent spend for you. The main thing though was that you didn't 'waste' money on water. Well done!:T0 -
OK... not posted for a few days... got confession... I fell off the wagon again...
Nothing major, major, but just a few bits & bobs snuck onto the CC like a new bag for a friend's wedding, getting my haircut last week, new printer cartridge etc etc. What really frustrates me is that I've not got much to show for it, but I've managed to add about £200 to my debt! I've got about £100 left in my bank account to last until payday (2 weeks today) but that's got to cover a hen night & wedding over the next 2 Saturdays, so don't think I'm going to have much left
My motivation is at a huge low at the moment - I think partly because I've shifted the debt to cheaper deals it doesn't seem like such an issue anymore.
I've got some extra work lined up for tomorrow & evenings over the next couple of weeks, though unfortunately I won't get the money for this until the end of July. Work is getting more stressful by the day (being dumped with half-started projects that now have a really short timescale to complete!) and I just want to cry!
I think I'm going to buy some cheap booze on the way home & sit their counting my change jars hoping for a miracle!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Big hugs - yes, you had a wobble, but you can and will sort it! Your CC1 is still on a high APR - so you could focus on this? Get all the points/clicks etc you can and then ebay things like the vouchers you get (you've been ebaying anyway, haven't you) - use this towards this card?

Yeah - bl00dy HSBC decided to increase my APR last month - without actually informing me first  This is the one I'm focussing on, and then I need to get money for the Egg one put aside before the 0% runs out as that one will hoick back up to 17.9%
I can't actually face working out my new total at the moment as I know I'll have to put the CC back up again - my main problem is a severe lack of motivation! I guess because I've never struggled to make the minimum payments it's easy to just let it slip for a while...Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

OK, I've bitten the bullet & updated my sig to include my bad spending on the CC this month
I've got £46.86 left in the bank account which has got to last me until the 29th, including going to a friends wedding on Saturday
Thankfully I've got enough diesel in the car to go through until the end of the month, and should only have to buy bread & milk in terms of food... Why do I o this to myself? I felt I was making progress and then I mess it up for myself good & proper!
On the plus side though, I've managed to wangle about 18 hours of extra work with month, which when I eventually get paid for it at the end of July will be very niceTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

OK, I'm in a much more positive frame of mind today, so am going to do a bit of planning for the next few months...
My first priority is the HSBC card, and then I need to get the money together for Egg before the 0% runs out in October. So... I need to get £1897.03 by the end of September (well, maybe a little bit more once the interest has gone on!
From my regular salary I can put £440.97 per month towards my debts, so 3 paydays will get £1322.91 for the debts, meaning I need to raise approximately £600 extra.
OT this month is going to come in at around £120 at the end of July, still waiting on £50 from the taxman, £30 for switching gas & electric and about £30 in Quidco = £230 (if it ever turns up!)
So £370ish from Ebay, Amazon, Green Metropolis - should be possible yes? I'm waiting for September to list some old text books as I figured they'd sell better then, but to be honest not sure I've got that much more stuff that will actually raise much.
I NEED to get my head around matched betting - driving me mad so far, but my goal is to understand by the time the premiership kicks off again in August as various people have said that football is an easier one to start with!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Just realised, will need more because of paying the minimum on the M&S card which is about £60 a month... so actually need to raise about £780 more :eek:Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi Storm
Don't wait til September to list your text books - list them now. Ive sold three in the last week. Perhaps students are getting their reading lists for next term now. On Amazon, listings last for two months and then you can simply relist them if they haven't sold, so you have nothing to lose by listing now.
Good luck with itTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hi Storm, with a bit of effort you will get that money together no problem at all. Once you start matched betting you will make a few easy quid and your quidco total will increase too, so this will make a good difference to you.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. True Seaxwyn, though part of me was wondering whether to put them on Ebay... I guess I could put them on Amazon and wait and see if they go, then Ebay in September if they've not sold.Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
