feival wrote:Well of course people do. Haven't you seen the people selling them in Spain, Turkey, Thailand etc. You don't pay £1000 for a fake rolex but £30 nor do you expect it to last too long either but you get to enjoy if for the 6months or so that it will work for.
So spend £30 on a non-fake which will be better made, legal and last years.
Sorry, but the MSE I joined did not advocate illegal activity to 'moneysave'. Heck if we all robbed a bank we'd be out of debt, right!?
Where do you draw the line?? This thread should be closed.0 -
My DH bought the 2GB one from here
http://www.bargainstock.co.uk/Catalog.asp?f=sony
It's a genuine Sony one & has been working fine in his Sony Ericsson K750i2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -
I don't really see why everyone is getting so moody! Fine, buying off ebay is not the best idea but the cards in the original link whilst probably being fakes,do in fact say sony in the description, plus as Amazon are a big company it is them who are endorsing fakes by allowing them to be sold through there site so people who have a problem with it should be complaing to Amazon.
Whilst I personally wouldn't buy a cheap one unless it was from a reputable retailer who i could return it to if it didn't work, i can understand why others would. Somebody said why buy a card that may only last 6 months when official ones have a warrenty but usually manufactures warrenties only last 12 months anyway (so 2 cheap ones @ 6 months each still cheaper) or require you to keep the reciept which not everyone does so chances are if it broke after 12 months you would end up buying a new one anyway (i know i would as i can never be bothered with the hassle of returning things, not very moneysaving but true)
But anyway, please calm down people, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there is no need to get so offended by other peoples posts!0 -

im surprised amazon condones such puechasing by allowing this sale to continue. IF THEY ARE FAKE!0 -
They are - I bought one from Amazon Marketplace and it was fake; I got a refund without any fuss but I was out of pocket for the return postage. The seller did not even once try to deny that it was a fake.EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0

Everyone who has posted in this thread KNOW the cards on Amazon marketplace are fake and illegal on the market. Some are encouraging people to purchase them which is why there's a big fuss.0

Just lock the thread.
Unfortunately even chavs have broadband these daysBe nice0 -
If you see something offered for sale at a third or quarter of the proper price it is obviously stolen or a fake (or perhaps occassionally genuine bankrupt stock) !!
Decent honest people do not purchase or encourage the sale of such goods.
Sellers of such goods should be actively pursued by the full force of the law, if convicted they should be jailed.0 -
Here is the Official Sony response to fakes:

And also an E-Bay guide to spotting fakes:

I have also been duped to buy a fake. It does work, but I wonder for how much longer. I did buy another fake then read the e-bay guide. Realising it was a fake I returned it to the seller who refunded me in full. I guess they would rather refund the odd one than have a complaint sent to e-bay that could close their account down.0
