    I read recently that nowadays police can actually have a couple of past convictions (nothing TOO serious) and they'll stoll be considered for the force.:( You don't need to be tall either - I've seen a few policemen who look nomore than about 5"3" - and I also saw one who looked like he could have audtioned for the roly-poly show!

    So physical fitness doesn't seem to be an essential anymore, and neither does mental alertness and intelligence. Some officers can barely write - there was an article about that, too.:eek:
