Hi moneycurious, thanks for popping by.....

Little one is definitely back to himself now and no more signs of sickness, thank goodness.

I got back home from my Tenerife trip at 2am this morning, so feeling thoroughly tired. I will catch up on diaries tonight once I've got my jammies on and feet are up.

Tenerife trip was good - on the work front it went well. I also got to see a good friend who I haven't seen since he was diagnosed with the big C, so it was really nice to spend some time with him and his wife. He's doing really well and that was lovely to see.

I ended up selling my second bag to someone else and ebay are going to credit me for the fees on the sale that didn't go through. I ended up getting what i was looking for, so it all worked out well.

The two bags brought in £700, so that's been sent to the savings account in order to contribute towards by new carpets which are being fitted tomorrow!

So, we need to empty some furniture from the bedrooms tonight so that they can get to work when they arrive in the morning. Hopefully they will get it all done tomorrow and then I can everything returned to normal ready to put the Christmas tree up on Saturday.

We've booked our painting man and he will come and paint the hall/stairs/landing in the next few weeks - need to get my paint organised.... no idea how much I will need, so will check with the painter man and get it bought.

Seems like its been spend spend spend the last few months... hopefully our focus can resume in the New Year.

Luls - feels like we've not spoken in ages....missed you <<insert teary smilie>>

Glad your wee boy-lula is okay and well done on selling the handbags - the lovely new carpets will be just fantastic (mine's all grubby from dog/kids/spills....and it's light in colour - has been carpet shampooed to death though:cool:)

The house will look so lovely all fresh and painted - this is definitely a focus area for me next year - along with MOPs, savings, losing weight, meeting man of my dreams, salary increase.......etc. etc. etc.

    Have a lovely chillaxing-jim-jam-diary-reading evening X

Finally jammies and catch up time!

Missed you too Natty! Can't wait for the grubby carpets to go, just hope they stay nice and clean for a little while before the inevitable children/cat stains start to appear.....

Something so lovely about new carpets, they are all boingy underfoot and perfect...just like they always are in adverts.

You will have to have a 'clear drink only' policy over Christmas and New Year;)

I am so happy with the new carpets.... I just have to keep going upstairs to walk on them, so bouncy and soft, love it!

Painting man is coming tomorrow to tell me how much paint I need so that I can buy it ready for when he comes in the week. Not sure whether to just have the walls done or go for the gloss work too.

Went food shopping today.... £33 aldi and £56 tesco.... tesco included a £5 discount and aswell as food I bought Cludo for ds1 and a couple of DVDs for ds2 - all for christmas. I paid using my amex and rcvd 1,000 bonus points for doing so. I have another voucher to use for a further 1,000 points, so will use that next time.

Dinner was a very ms baked potatoe with some chilli from the freezer.

Currently munching on minstrels that I bought at the airport earlier this week...... They taste so much nicer when I didn't buy them myself.

House work is already done for the weekend..... I couldn't work today as all of the bedrooms were dismantled for the carpets, so once they were fitted, I hoovered top to bottom and dusted and polished as I put the rooms back together. DH and ds2 cleaned the bathrooms the other day. So, a fairly lazy weekend in store.

Hopefully the sun will shine a little bit over the weekend and we can get out for some walks with the boys.

Enjoy the carpets and chillaxing weekend...if you can afford it, go for the gloss also as from experience, freshly painted walls look good against freshly painted gloss......

In my house, all doors and skirting had been stripped back and waxed by the previous owners, so no wood painting required here but DEFINITELY walls require decor! Your house will look just fab:T

I'll ask how much longer it will take to have the gloss done too. The problem with the gloss work is where to start and end, I imagine it's easy to end up feeling like you need to do the whole house (which we probably do)....... Would really smarten the place up though......
  • I'd definately go for glossing as well if you can. When the walls are finished it does show up the woodwork. I'm now looking at the rest of the house and thinking it could do with a spruce up. Planning to tackle the worst room first each time and DIY where I can.

    Enjoy your new hall

  • see i wouldnt gloss , i would go satin on the skits and arcs - looks more modern. we had new skirts - so all wood but - i spent hours and weeks strilling the staircase to decide i was painting it satin - its washable and fresh - love it!!!! plus you get into doing it you soon cant stop!!!

well done with the bags and ebay - i have got a bag of bits to put on - just need time to do it! xx
