Went past the Ugg store and decided that I would try on the Ugg boots hoping that i didn't like them. Excellent result - impossible to get your feet in to them without being double jointed and when I finally manipulated by poor foot in to the boot they weren't comfy around the toe. Couldn't have hoped for a better result.

I had a similar experience with some Jimmy Choos last year!!!

How funny! It's a blessing in disguise when these lovely items that we desire turn out to be unsuitable although i was surprised with the Uggs as usually they are the most comfortable things ever made.

I tried some Loobies on once in Selfridges and I just felt like a prize oaf as I stomped around with these rather elegant shoes on. Seriously, I couldn't walk in them and I just looked ridiculous.
  • It's the same whan i go clothes shopping you go in all smug , and secretly telling yourself that you dont need them..... get the said object on , only to realise you
    a) look like a clown
    b) it doesnt fit
    c) the "clients" that are purchasing them arnt what you want to be associated with!!

then as you walk out the shop you hear that voice say - i told you that you didnt need them!!! hehe!!

I'm thankful that I don't really enjoy shopping at all. For me the highlight of any shopping trip is:
    1) - Starbucks
    2) - Lunch
    3) - mooching around pitying all of the people who are q'ing up and desperate to part with their hard earned (or the banks) cash

I mentioned earlier that i'm having a shopping day with my sister on Saturday, but I wont really be shopping as such - just doing the three items detailed above and perhaps just adding a sneaky little glass of wine to the list too.

I have already returned the coat that i ordered in my mind. So it will be returned as soon as it arrives. I tried cancelling the order without any joy and I received no reply to the email that i sent to cancel either.

I'm undecided about the gloves. I guess it will depend upon whether they fit or not when they arrive. They were a very good price so I'm actually hoping that they are nice (and fit) when they arrive.......

Heading out soon to pick up my friend for our (cheap) early dinner. Guess I better make some sort of an effort and spruce my face up and change my top.

    Enjoy your evening, L x

I know what you mean... Another thing - I often see an item that I really like but it just would never go with other things I already have, so rather than buying the perfect shoes, top/bottoms to go with the said item, I just don't bother...

I'm not a fan of trendy things either. I love nice things but only if they will stand the test of time and last me for years....

And, other "clients" also can put me off too....... I used to be quite partial to Ne8t - but I rarely bother anymore.... the quality has totally gone down hill - infact the prices in there are less now that when I first started to shop there 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong, every now and then you can find a nice item, but it's not what it used to be many moons ago....

And pay day arrived a day early for me - so I've done some money shuffling and found it really hard to resist making an OP...... BUT, I need to build up some handy savings so no OP's for a few months. It just doesn't feel right though - I feel like I'm cheating my mortgage balance.

SJ1 - thanks for popping by and a huge relief that im not the only one that is currently feeling bad about cheating on my mortgage with my savings!

Dinner was lovely.... I'm stuffed. It was actually £12.95 but the food was good quality and the portions huge. I also had a lime and soda... Avoided the pricy wine and was driving anyway, so didn't look like too much of a skin flint by not having a glass.

Ds2 home poorly today. He had a tummy ache in the night and whilst cuddling me in bed he prompty threw up all over me. I'm talking huge portions of recycled carrots and fish.
