Okay lula (and Ed of course), it's back to NOvember for us followed by DecemBAN and perhaps a smattering of JanNOary....am I taking this too far? Just give me the nod and I'll stop.....February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D
C'mon nattypants:cool:0 -
It's 7 weeks until the new year :D
but only 5 until Christmas yeeeeehaw!!! :j:j:j
I agree wedding outfits and weddings as a guest can be really expensive especially if it involves an over night stay. I definitely recycle outfits!
Your cupcakes sound yum! Good luck with your eBay sales0 -
Natty - I'm loving the NOvember, DecemBAN and a possible JanNOary... we should try and stick to these.
5 weeks until Christmas, wowsers... I need to think about starting to buy in some bits and pieces of food, but then again we're only here Christmas day and will be with relatives Boxing day and the following day - so I don't think we really need to go crazy. Perhaps a couple of treats and that should do nicely. I might need to work on getting us an invite for Christmas tea somewhere, lol! I'll buy some bits and pieces that we can take with us as "offerings".
It's been such an expensive month so far - swimming lessons, school uniforms, car service, house insurance. I need to take some money to our friends later to pay the final instalment for our Christmas party night that we are all going to. It's just never ending. I think I will recycle for this too. In fact, forget "think" - I will definitely recycle for this, nothing new needed at all.
Another day working at home. I'm without my car today as DH has taken mine since his is being serviced. Hopefully they don't find that the car needs anything else doing to it other than the service it has been booked in for - although I did spot that one of the brake lights was out as I was following DH to the garage last night.
Cupcakes were lovely Ammonite - still have a fair few left, so they will do again for pudding tonight!0 -
I've OP'd £127 - a combination of selling some things and account tidies etc. That takes me to £25k, short on my increased target but that's it now for the year.
I'm going to concentrate on building up a savings pot for the next few months and then normal service shall resume at some point in the new year with my OP's.0 -
Checked the freezer and meal planned for next week - just a small food shop to see us through..... Super market bill is £234 so far this month which I guess is shocking compared to the other threads that I look at.
Found a one person sized portion of veg soup in the freezer - that will do me nicely for lunch today. House guests have gone in to town so will be sorting themselves out.
Dinner tonight is Aubergine pasta - sounds naff but it really tasty - an old Jamie Oliver recipe that we've not had for ages. Ideal meal when cooking for selves and guests.0 -

A much more fun way of looking at things!
Our food shopping is so variable... it depends on whether we need a Costc0 trip, time available in the evenings, vouchers etc.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
The car service is not going well.....
So far, brake fluid needs to be changed = £40, rear spring is broke (whatever that means) = £140. Plus, we need 4 new tyres (2 are illegal). Oh, and of course the cost of the service itself - didn't even dare ask DH how much this was.
To be fair the car has done 100k miles and is still going strong so I can't grumble too much about some ongoing maintenance costs - BUT I just HATE spending money on this type of thing.
Dread to think how much the final bill will be, eek!0 -
EEKK , thats a dent , but without it it would be hard work. Have you alot of xmas parties, some years we have nothing - others its manic!! No one will remember what you wear - if its anything like ours everyone will be legless by 9!! and then facebook will tell us how we behaved from then on!!Dec 2011 £141,000 / dec 2013 £135,000/ Jan 2014 £131,000 / July 2014 £129 0000

Just one party.... I have an outfit that will be perfect so I really dont need to buy anything.0

It's been a lousy few days - family/house guest things.... So feeling very fed up.
I'm in a ruthless mood and have just listed two of my beloved handbags on fleabay. I don't care if they don't sell as I will happily keep them, but if they do sell that will be some £££'s for the savings pot.
Going out to dinner tonight with said family members/house guests - will be nice not to cook but I'm not in the best of moods with them as they have made me very grumpy and sad. They are leaving tomorrow and I doubt that I will see them again for a year or so which is sad but their behaviour and attitude is starting to make me not really care which upsets me even more.0
