I'd love to know what this guy looks like...

some strange advice on here... make sure you meet him away from his hous; why? what's he going to do apart from shout at you to f*ck off and then phone you next week apologising,
Are you sure he said he was possessed by a ghost and not a goat? that could explain his baaarmy behaviour.
Finally... I'm single, do you have any more stupid mates?0 -
My hubby was on sleeping tablets - a 'side effect' of his epilepsy - he couldn't shut down at night and walked, talked and did all sorts of silly things. The sleeping tablets were not much help but honestly from your post OP my hubby could have done something like that and have no recollection of it the next morning.
He could be on innocent medication but if he wants to carry on seeing your friend he should be HONEST, l'm afraid being possessed by a ghost is a ricidulous excuse, if he wants to continue with that excuse l suspect drug or alcohol issues....
ETA: The title of this thread made me :rotfl:

Please, give the guy a break!
The man who said that he was possessed by a ghost clearly has mental health or drug problems. That does not mean that he is dangerous, nor that he cannot have friendships and relationships. In fact, social isolation is likely to make his problems a good deal worse.
So my advice to the OP: yes, do meet this guy. Maybe it would be best to meet in a public place, but the more important message is that your female friend should not be spending time alone at his house until she knows a good deal more about his problems and the ways in which he may or may not behave under different circumstances.
And let me add that the vast majority of mentally ill people are not at all dangerous. Even those suffering from schizophrenia are highly unlikely to attack anyone else.0 -
I agree with much of what you're saying. But someone who is treating her like that already, after 2 weeks, is really not in a position to offer her a stable relationship, regardless of whether it's a mental illness or he's just out to push her around.Voyager2002 wrote: »Please, give the guy a break!

Going into a relationship with your eyes open when one partner has an illness of any kind is fair enough, but if a new partner is being abusive for ANY reason, they need to get help for that before thinking of becoming involved romantically. And there is no doubt this was abusive behaviour.Just because it says so in the Mail, doesn't make it true.
I've got ADHD. You can ask me about it but I may not remember to answer...0 -

err, why is it clearly the case?
maybe it's what he does after banging some random bird; but he decided he did actually like her and wanted to see her again so he came up with a story.0
