Some of you have done really well. I did WW online a few years ago and then had back surgery and put it back on again (and then some) I could do to lose about 6 stone or so

How are people finding the new plan? I just had a look @ ww site and it's quite pricey to do online - but it worked for me before...............I am just finding it hard to motivate myself.

Hello again Jenny, I'm doing it online and I finally feel I've got in the swing of it. The best thing is the recipe builder tool which allows you to enter in all your ingredients and calculates the points for you. It saves everything too.

The tracker is good too, it keeps a record of the whole week for you, and adds up exercise points. I'm just coming to the end of my first week, so I haven't weighed myself yet. I'll keep you posted ;)

    In
    avocado
    2tsp oil daily

    OUT
    white rice/rice cakes
    ryvita with seeds
    krisprolls

Hi Thriftlady - I'm not stalking you, honest! ;)

I'll watch with interest and try and get some motivation. I don't remember paying so much upfront before when I did it - mind you we didn't think about how we spent our money in those days - how times have changed!

Have you got a lot to loose - i feel quite daunted by it at the moment. Too fond of cheese and wine for my own good

Ditto with the cheese and wine ;) I've got 4 stone to shift:rolleyes: Doing it online is cheaper than going to meetings as it's £10 a month after the initial start-up fee. Meetings are about £5 a week I think.

I beg to differ what are all those snack bars for sale at the counter? I know they are cereal bars but the are prepacked snacks. Also dried pasta with a sauce mixed with water and boiled are free, dried rice with flavour ditto and cans of beans with pasta and tomato sauce I know are free as well. These are just the sort of foods the OP is trying to avoid which I know were pushed by SW consultants. Also I have had 4 SW consultants in the last 10 years (yes I am a c**p dieter) and all have proclaimed to be the push and ping brigade. The all profess to not be able to cook - now either I have been unlucky or this is a line to convince folk that they don't have to be healthy cooks to lose weight.

Those "snack bars" which are sold in SW meetings have more fibre than any cereal bar on the market, and you have to remember that there are always going to be some people, who need a quick, filling snack which they can eat 'on the run' so to speak.

If the only way to lose weight were by cooking everything from scratch, lots of people who work full-time would not bother trying. Personally, I see nothing wrong with baked beans, they are full of fibre, and good for you. They may not be home made, but make a filling lunch in a jacket potato they are almost completely fat-free and it would be hard to think of anything cheaper.

I can, and do, cook meals from scratch six days out of seven, but I know that you can still lose weight without being able to boil an egg. It's not ideal - of course it's not - but not everyone has the time or the inclination to make every meal from scratch.

Members do use Pasta and sauce as a free food, but you won't find it listed under the heading Free Food in any of the SW books. The ONLY foods in the list are fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables along with fresh meat and fish on Original days and pasta, rice, lentils etc on Green days. Members also make couscous cake and count it as free simply because all the individual ingredients are free - however, if you ask a Consultant, they would tell you that this is 'tweaking' the plan, and not following it correctly.

I'm sorry I don't understand the term "push and ping brigade", but you make it sound derogatory, so I hope I don't come under the same banner
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I'm doing ww and when I cook a meal I work out exactly what has gone into it. How many are eating it and therefore how many points. The other day I made mushroom foo yung. 4 eggs, 4 points, mushrooms 0 points, beansprouts (can't remember off the top of my head) etc and divided by two as two of us eating it.

    Hope that helps

    Hi everyone.

Yet again a thread on watching weight has moved on to general weight watching support and advice.

There's a perfectly good and well supported thread (linked below) which contains a LOT of help tips and support to those members who are working towards a weight loss goal.
