Hi mummy, we're going to put the car payments toward our DMP, that will increase our payment to £475 per month which brings our DFD closer to about 7 years I think. Although I was thinking about paying the extra from May onwards and keeping Aprils payment for the emergency fund........somehow I feel like that's cheating though.:o xx

  • Managed another NSD today, number 4.

I'm off work tomorrow and Friday, tomorrow I need to post a ebay item and then I'm off to C0stc0. I've done a list of items and how much they cost from supermarket (even down to per 100g!!) to compare when we get there.

Also need to pay childminder for 3 full days this week (waiting for OH's pay day tomorrow) and put £10 petrol in my car to top up as we are visiting some friends on Friday and it's not local :(........but I'm sure we'll have a great day. :)

  • We had a very 'interesting' trip to C0stc0 today. Spent £84 but saved against supermarket prices £37. Think it could work for us if I went say once a month and then just topped up fresh stuff from supermarket.

We had lunch at C0stc0, spent £6.

    Posted ebay parcel, £2.87.

Put £20 (decided a top up of £10 wasn't enough to last until next Thursday) petrol in my car, still need to drop childminders money off though.

I did peg out today.........must be crazy, didn't dry completely but just needs airing, hence the heating has been on this afternoon. :(

Looking forward to visiting our friends tomorrow, have baked some cup cakes to take with us, and they are providing lunch so should be a NSD too.

  • I've heard so many good things about c0stco, just a shame we don't have one near here. Our equivalent of them seems to be dearer than the supermarkets most of the time.

  • Hi Alice
Great news about the car being fixed and low cost. :)
Costco can be great value but I only buy certain things. The loo rolls and cleaners are usually a good bet for value, especially if there's an offer on. And the Emmental cheese slices twin pack is a must have in this household. It works out a lot cheaper than the tiny packs in other shops. I rarely buy meat from there as it's often cheaper in L*dl and fruit/veg is cheaper in A*di if it's in the super 6. :)

Yeah it was good but you really have to be careful, some things were still cheaper in the supermarket, and the supermarkets can vary from store to store. Will keep a note of my savings and see how it goes. :)

Not doing too bad but not as good as I have been.......I'm blaming it on the fact that February is a short month.;)

We struggle with fruit and veg from A1di, it just doesn't last it goes off/mouldy, don't know if its just our store but its a real pain!!
Quite agree some stuff was still cheaper in the supermarkets. Our bargain was 6 corner yogurts (well known brand) for 97p (they had a short date), stocked up on toilet rolls, cat food, part baked bread (16 rolls for £1.69) and did get some chicken portions which worked out cheaper because they were on offer.:)

  • What a busy 48hours!! We had a lovely day yesterday, did end up getting Maccies on the way home as the kids were 'starving' and it was a long day.

Also had to put some more petrol in today as DS had a football match blooming miles away this morning, I haven't added up petrol spends over the last 10days but I bet its near £80...gulp!

Also called into supermarket as we'd run out of coffee....eek. DS has got friends sleeping over so we got some pizzas for their tea. Also picked up a t-shirt for BILs birthday, they had 25% of clothes.:D

Still only on 4 NSDs, 20p pot upto £24.20 and £2 coin pot upto £36.00.

I was thinking that we seem to be just plodding on with this MSE/DMP malarky, so I'm really going to knuckle down and get the food spending under control (mmm I've said this before!!), and get the emergency fund built up, and as soon as we've thawed out from football this morning I'll turn the heating down.;)

    But I have pegged out today.....mad woman.:D

Hope everybody is keeping warm, enjoy the weekend.
