  • What a journey home , 2hours to do a 15minute journey, anyway all home safe. DS1 has 2 friends staying tonight as one of them has just passed his test (this week!) and doesn't fancy driving home and they don't live local......don't blame him.

So extra mouths to feed for dinner, not a problem. Washing machine on, just going to do essentials (school uniform) as I've still got the airers full of nearly dry washing.

Must update spending diary but I feel shattered, looking forward to a lie-in in the morning as all sports clubs cancelled.

Hope everybody is safe and warm.

  • Yesterday was NSD 10 :D

But today will be a spend day. My friend is of to the B0dy Sh0p and she's offered to take my list and vouchers, I'm getting some b/day and Christmas presents, £40 worth for £20. :)

OH has had a lie-in and now he's moaning that 'the morning is nearly over', you can't win with him.

Have checked the calender for next week and can you believe it it's hair cut time already.

  • It's been snowing all day, kids think its great but I've had enough now. :o

Only left the house yesterday to go sledging, so no petrol used but last night OH informed me we had run out of cat food. I wanted to do some baking and needed some bits (why does everything run out at the same time!!) so we decided to venture out to the supermarket this morning........£52 later:eek:....the most expensive cat food and caster sugar I have every purchased.
That means we've spent over £120 at the supermarkets this week.
Following the stress from the shopping trip it all went a bit wrong. DS3 wanted to go sledging again but nobody wanted to take him, I wanted to get on with the house work so we could bake this afternoon, so it resulted in me having a strop and I took DS3 sledging. But my parting shot to OH and DS1 was that they could do all the house work.

OH came over to us after about 10minutes but by that time the red mist had come down and I was fuming, all I wanted was for one of them to take DS3 out for 30minutes or so, when we got back I went and got back into bed and sulked.....all seems a bit trivial now but I wanted to prove a point that I can't do everything.

Since then I have been on strike, but whilst I protest upstairs has been vac'd and dusted, bathroom/shower room cleaned, stairs vac'd and white wash put on the airers........think I'll protest more often.;)

Not sure how long I can keep this up they are about to tackle the ironing which is painful to watch.

Going back to the shopping trip because we've over spent I will have to take yet some more money out of the emergency fund  so we will have money for DS3s swimming and haircuts this week.

I really must get a grip on our money, the money pots and building the emergency fund back up.

Still on 10NSDs, £2 pot upto £16 now and 20p pot upto £10.20.

A lesson we learned at the start of our journey was to shop alone - saves ££££ every week.

Absolutely agree Workie, if OH goes he sticks the list and if I go alone I can stick to the list (normally!!) but today was like a 'free for all'. Think I'll do the next shop on line.

Well the ironing is all done (what was dry anyway), and we've all kissed and made-up. Managed to do some baking and OH is out clearing the snow...again. Kids schools are closed tomorrow so at least I've just got myself to get to work.

Hope everybody has a good week, stay safe and keep warm....nearly payday. ;)

  • Today was NSD 11, going to try and do 15 for this month.;)

Have had another look at the meal planner for this week as the freezer keeps switching itself off (its in the garage, must be cold in there :() and there are some bits I want to use first.

Have only transferred £25 from emergency fund into the current account, that is all we need to cover yesterdays trip to the supermarket. I've got £4ish in my purse so hoping that will last until Thursday. Got to pay for DS3s swimming lessons this week but I've got that cash ready. We will be down to 'pence' in the current account but all DD's will be paid.

DS3 is back to school tomorrow, just waiting for DS2s school to confirm if they are open and DS1 back to college......thankfully, I'm sure they haven't stopped eating whilst they've been at home today.

  • The last 48hrs seem to have flown by. I've had a very busy evening, had tea and sorted kitchen, DS3 bathed and ready for bed, have done the ironing, vac'd downstairs and put 2 loads of washing on the airers.:)

Have been updating my spending diary, I've added pages to log spends on window cleaner and swimming lessons. Keeping the diary updated is like having a part-time job but I am determined to keep a record of all our spending.

Still on 11 NSDS, had to pay for swimming lessons today.

OH has asked at work about the 'bike 2 work' scheme so hopefully he can get something sorted.
