We used to buy for my sister for example from us, then a card each from the girls to her and etc etc through the whole family. I remember one year spending £63 just on what I call Special People Cards. Never again. I know it sounds a bit humbuggy but I would rather not receive them myself, I hate the mess and I end up piling them up on the stairs then frantically displaying them around the house if the person who sent it is visiting. I have also suggested keeping the previous years cards and putting them back up againt he following year , but noone wants to play that game with me !!
I'd play that game with you. I have yet to find a decent card holder and they drive me crazy when they are all around the house, somebody shuts the door to quick causes a draft and you get the domino effect, ggrrrr :rotfl: xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

I also plan to not go overboard on gifts either.
That's great having some left over, I'm hoping we have some spare cash so we can get some in the sale for next year. We're not going overboard either and I've tried to make the gifts fun but practical too. xx

Have a great weekend
Folks I had a meltdown yesterday I can tell you. OH called me at work in the afternoon to say we had had a letter from the bank charging us £15 as we had gone overdrawn on the 27th. I couldn't understand it, I have been meticulous with the spending diary/budget. I felt sick for the rest of the afternoon, anyway when I got home there was a letter addressed just to me saying to ignore the letter about the charge it was a mistake!!!! phew:rotfl::D
Just warming up from standing outside this morning watching DS play football, off to a birthday party this afternoon. Think we can stretch to a chippy tea tonight.
House is a mess, car is filthy, wash basket overflowing (haven't done any washing for a few days as I can't get it dry easily but must do uniforms and football kit!!) but I will deal with it tomorrow morning
Hope everybody is having a good weekend. xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Only managed 12 NSDs in November.
Spends for November, Petrol £155, groceries/cleaning stuff/wash powder/toiletries £456 , when I start my new diary in January I should be able to break this figure down into sections.....and bring the total spent down.
I've sorted bus money etc and I've got £1.95 left in my purse. 20p pot is up to £1.60 and £2 pot is upto £2 (its a start).
We haven't got to pay the water rates for the next 4 months and I was hoping to save the money, but I think this month I will have to use it to buy Christmas presents. But will definately put the next 3 months into the emergency pot.
Hope everybody has a good week.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Tonight we've had a quick and easy tea (pie and chips from the freezer)and I've finished off the ironing now that all the washing had dried.
So to celebrate I opened a big bag of chocolate that was supposed to be a treat over Christmas, although I shared them with everybody I must have eaten at least half to myself  I've just had a glass of milk (skimmed :rotfl:) to try and get rid of that sicky feeling.......that'll teach me!!
Today was NSD 2.
