  • Today was NSD number 7.:)

Got up at 7.30am and have just sat down. Decided not to log on the here this morning......I just don't get anything done once I start on here :o.

Had a really good clean in living and dining room, put all the toys upstairs, cleaned all windows inside, kids dusted and vac'd their bedrooms, cleaned shower/bathroom. Watched DS2 play football, OH play rugby, and cooked a sunday roast.....shattered now!!!

Get some L3go last night, spent £44 but will get £20 back from In-Laws. Called into sburys spent £17, the reduced sections were empty, even all the bread had gone by the time we got in there.

Have updated spending diaries, spent £90 petrol so far this month and £254 on groceries/toiletries/cleaning stuff. Going to order another Christmas present on-line tomorrow and that will be my 2 presents sorted for this week. Will get another 2 next week end.:)

Purse only has 76p in it, lets see how long that last.

Must get house insurance quotes next week!

  • I've found a caterpillar in the frozen veg tonight.......still ate the veg after I'd cooked it though, a bit of extra meat won't hurt:rotfl:
Mind you the kids we'll eat anything at the moment, they are always hungry, can't seem to fill them up.

Will take it back to sburys and see what they have to say.

Today was NSD number 9, still got my 76p!!

  • What a horrible night, we 'lost' a couple of fencing panels today, OH is sure he can repair them but it will have to wait until the weekend!

I did take the frozel veg and the little caterpillar friend back to sburys and got my 75p back. :D The only thing is whilst I was I picked up a few things........well £22.72 worth to be precise. I did get some baked beans, butter, apples and yogurts that were on offer, the rest was just rubbish stuff that we didn't really need just that i wanted to buy it.......every now and again I creep back to my old ways. At least these times are getting few and far between now. :o

OHs payday today, yippee (although still on reduced hours :(). I ordered a present for DS3 from fleabay £2.89. I've paid childminder tonight and got money for afterschool club to pay school tomorrow. Also OHs work lottery for the next 4 weeks - £12:eek:. I'm left with about £3 in my purse.

Will have to get petrol tomorrow, will probably get £30 as I've got a lot of running around after the kids this weekend.

I didn't put the heating to come on yesterday and the house was freezing last night, don't know if the wind was coming from a different direction or what but everybody even with extra layers was dithering. So we've decided that the heating will come on everyday about 3ish (still at 17 degrees) until 8ish, that way the house will be warm when the kids come in from school, and should stay warm in the evening. Will see how it goes.......we've got to have a bit if luxury :o

Hope everybody is keeping dry.......nearly the weekend:j.xx

  • Note to self.........
A/ Never go shopping without a list
B/ Don't take the kids just they just get bored and
C/ Don't take OH because he gets bored too!!!
OH used to be great at going shopping but today he was the biggest pain. Moaned about the prices, how busy it was, that fact that it was raining blah blah blah blah blah.:(

We have got mould on DS3s bedroom ceiling  so tomorrow we're going to clear out the room, clean the mould and if its not raining OH will check the guttering and roof. Hopefully we can find out whats causing it.

OH made good the fencing panel today. We will need another one in the not too distant future.:(

Still feeling a bit stressed about getting all the Christmas presents. We have cut right back the amount we have to buy but its all about keeping up appearances......and really want to keep our DMP a secret. Have still got to pay for works Christmas 'do', I didn't go last year but couldn't find a good enough excuse this year.:(

Also had to get bulb for front headlight today....£13:eek:
Haven't updated spending diary today, will do it tomorrow. No football or rugby so should be able to get loads done around the house. I've also joined the £2 and 20p coin savers club, I did really well this year with the £2 coins.

Looking forward to a lie-in tomorrow.:)

    Hi Alice

Sorry its all so tricky but well done on keeping focussed and on and at it. Just hold your nerve about Xmas..we are cutting right back and every thing is being thought about..eg. slippers for DD2 as she really needs some (especially when I turn the heating off!!). youhave done the right thing about the Xmas work present thing...we all need to be more honest about not spending on things just because others are..and thats nothing to do with a DMP. we are just all too quick to spend. we need to stop...

Hope you have a good week Alice. thinking of you (was stormy here too..but not half as bad as deeper into the SW!) More rain on the way tho..

  • PWPS - thank you, you know I am so glad that I am not the only one having that thought. I love the social side of Christmas, seeing family and friends (and time off work ;)) but once its all over I am going to knuckle down again. I've bought a new spending diary to start in the new year and I can't wait to start using it.....sad or what LOL.

brizzle - thank you too, I'm being very practical with the Christmas presents too, wherever possible. My parents have offered to get the games console for DS2, I do feel quite guilty about it, but its what they want to do so...... We've also got loads of birthdays during Dec. We can get through this :)

Managed to sort DS3s bedroom out yesterday, although OH didn't manage to get the ladders out to check guttering and roof as it was just too windy, infact I had all the windows open and got loads of fresh air through the house. Cleaned all through, even pegged out and had a lovely Sunday dinner. Got some of the ironing done, was supposed to do the rest tonight but haven't :(

I have 7p in my purse and don't think we need cash for anything else so we should have £14ish left from OHs wages which I will transfer into the emergency fund on Wednesday night before OH gets paid again on Thursday.....thats a big improvement on previous weeks!! Also today was NSD 11 :)
