  • We had a lovely 'cinema' night, we watched Toy Story 3 and I found it quite sad.....what am I like! It was lovely to all sit together, since DS1 started to work we haven't really had the chance.:)

I've got washing drying on clothes horses, the airing cupboard is full of drying washing and I've got another load in the machine, which I will peg out. My mission today (because this is how sad I am :D) is to get all this washing dried and ironed.
Today will be NSD 4 and the heating is still off .
Hope everybody has a good day.xx

  • Well I managed to get most of the washing dried and ironed yesterday, just go a few things on the airer.......thank heavens as the weather is pants here today. :(

Still no heating on, today was NSD5 and I've still got 3p in my purse but will put that in the 'penny pot'.

I'm going to bank £40 of £2 coins in the emergency account as that only has £18 in it. We really need to start building this back up but its a reall struggle at the moment.

Off to chill in the sofa.xx

  • Have updated spending diary and it looks like from this Thursday to next we will have £98. This will have to pay childminder, afterschool club, 2 x birthday presents, petrol and food. Any pennies left over I will put into the emergency fund.......it may only be pennies.

DS2 still needs new trainers :(

NSD 6 and heating still off......and it will stay off for as long as possible as E0N are putting their prices up in the new year!!

    xx

  • Arrgghhh the laptop last night nearly went through the window....3 times I typed a long rambling post and 3 times is crashed.

Anyway went to sburys Wednesday night to get milk, fruit, sandwich stuff etc and 2 bday presents, total spent £33 (£14 on presents). Also put £10 petrol in my car, doubt it will last until next Thursday but we'll see.

Had a real shock yesterday when I checked our bank account. The mobile bills had come out of the account, OHs was £54 and mine was £33, both are usually £18ish. OH had gone well over on his minutes (due to football and rugby season starting and he has to do a lot ringing round) and he'd entered 2 competitions!!! and mine was because I'd gone over my internet allowance (going on the internet when I can't sleep!). Needless to say we will be keeping an even closer eye on things this month.

Because an exta £50 has come out of the account we will have to borrow some money from the emergency fund.:(

Good news is that we are down to 5 payments on the car. :)

DS2 still needs trainers, still only on 6 NSDs, and the heating is still off.

Right better get on with some work.xx

  • This morning I have updated spending diary, sorted DS2s bus money etc, and pegged 2 loads of washing out.

I've got £1 for DS3s football training and that will leave 44p in my purse, which I am hoping will last until Wednesday when I am meeting some of my friends for a meal and a 'catch up'.

Off to watch DS1 play football this morning, so housework will have to wait.

Hope everybody has a great weekend.xx

    Hi Alice,

I read your entire diary a week or so ago and now I keep popping in to check how you're getting on. I just wanted to say that you're an absolute inspiration. It's a marvel to see you keeping track of every penny and still managing to prioritise your family's needs and desires. You're also a washer woman hero! Being single I'm gob-smacked by the amount of washing you have to do to maintain a sporty family.

Anyway, without wanting to sound patronising - well done and keep up the good work :T
    Trish

P.S. can you not connect your phone to your wifi when in the house, to avoid using your data allowance?

Oh and you might want to make a habit of copying your missives before you click the submit button so that if something does go wrong with the website you don't have to type it all again. On that note - I think I'll take my own advice before I submit :)
  • Aww Thank you Trish, I am in training for the washing an ironing Olympics :rotfl:. I'll have a look at connecting my phone to the house wi-fi......well I'll ask the kids! :)

I've done the meter readings this morning, we are now £225 in credit. Although I have to confess we did put the heating on for 2 hours yesterday evening.

I've put a load of washing on this morning and have had to open the last big box of washing power that I got when they were reduced. Will keep an eye out for some more powder on offer.

As the housework has waiting so patiently I will get on with it this morning.;)

    xx

  • Managed an NSD yesterday and today so on 8 NSDs so far this month. :)

But I have run out of 'stuff' for my hair and make up wipes (I've found some, 2 packets for £1 so they last 2 months) and I want to wait until Wednesday as I need some cash for my night out with the girls. So it will be curly frizz until then LOL. xx

  • Got my hair stuff and make-up wipes today, also got a refill for the airfreshner and some cakes from the cheapy shop (3 pks Mr Kip cakes for £1). Took £10 out of bank (£3.53 left in account until tomorrow:eek:) total spend £6.98.

I will have to raid 'the pots' to get some cash from my girlie night out, we're going for a meal so spend will be £13 ish (inc drinks) and I'm getting a lift from one of my lovely friends.:)

I'm also going to take their Christmas cards........I know this sounds mad but it will save on postage as I won't see all of them again before Christmas.:o

Managed to get 2 loads of washing dried on the line today.:)

Yesterday was NSD 9.......doing much better this month.

Now off to find some clothes that fit!!! xx
