Thank you pwps.
The football tournament was on yesterday, started at 10.00am and the last game was at 3.30pm. Anybody that goes to these tournaments will know that most of the time they end up running late, which they did. I ended up on a 'supplies' run to M0rrisons for a bag of apples, oranges, multi pack of crisps and some biscuits as some of the lads had either not got anything to eat at all (naughty parents) or had run out as we didn't realise we would be the ALL day. Spend £7ish.
Last night we went to a birthday party at a very posh hotel. Had a lovely evening but total spend nearly £30. Price per pint £4.50:eek:, I did take some drinks for the kids although the squash was 50p a glass.......OH said he was 'on board' with the debt busting just couldn't stomach pints of squash all night, but we did have that money in the entertainment pot so not so bad.
DS3 needed some footwear and trousers for the party so that was £13 in sburys, was going to use nectar points but have decided to save them for Christmas. Didn't have time to shop round as we were running late after the football.
I've also used all the petrol I put in on Thursday, I've only done 110 miles on £20 petrol, I need to work out if thats good or not.....probably not!!

Evening Alice,
Wowsers to the £4.50 a pint ! £30 not too bad considering you all went along!
Re the petrol I usually get around 380 miles out of a full tank which is £60ish. Im not up on all this miles per gallon business!! However if I only put £10's and £20's in it doesnt last as long!
Hope youve had a nice day xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks mummy, I think the £20 I put in on Thursday went so quick because I was doing lots of very short journeys around the town. Will try and work out miles per gallon at work tomorrow.
Managed to get all the washing done, just got to get the last few things off the line, 75% on the ironing is done too. OH has worked in the garden all day, preparing the base for where the shed is going to be moved to. Quite a bit job, need to dig down about 18inches as our garden is on a slope, anyway it kept him quiet.
Also managed a quick trip to the park with DS3 and the dog.
Upstairs all clean and tidy.......downstairs is still waiting to be done. Will ask DS1 to dust and vac downstairs tomorrow as he's at home now college has finished.
Today was NSD 8, but tomorrow will need to get petrol and dog food.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Wow I have just purchased the worlds most expensive washing basket!!
My friend told me A1di had washing baskets for £2.99 and I needed a new one (old one broken beyond repair) , so I called in on way home from work and when I got to the checkout the total was £23.57!!!! I did stock up on freezer stuff, cheese, yogurts etc but it still proves I can't be trusted to go into a store and not spend any extra money. Shopping spends this month £207.
Also got petrol and dog food. Another spend today was a pair of shoes to replace the ones I had stapled and taped, (see diary post from 2 months ago) on ebay £4.10 inc postage, exactly the same as the ones that have now fallen apart which I paid about £35 for 4/5 years ago. But I did sell a pair of shoes on there too, need to post them tomorrow.
Purse has £1.62 in it, need a £1 for DS3 school trip and that will be it until Thursday when I pay childerminder, don't know why I didn't pay for whole month at the start of the month!!

Morning Alice, very expensive washing basket, but i'm exactly the same, cannot be trusted in a supermarket, yet OH has become quite good at just buying what he is told to.
I also need work shoes, I finish work for 6 weeks on Friday, so i'm hoping mine last until then, so I can save for a new pair in the hols, can live in trainers/ sandals over summer hols or maybe just my wellies with how the weather is.0 -
Morning Alice,
Jsut catching up with the news, I ahve to say that despite you felling a tad guilty I really do think that after everything you have achieved these last few months, those new shoes were very well deserved !!!

pwps - my OH is exactly the same, he sticks to list no matter. I'm much better than I was, just a little blip here and there.:o
Pinot - thank you for those kind words. Although I still felt guilty those shoes really were beyond repair.:o
dfw321 - Wow thats some petrol usage but I know what you mean. Still haven't worked out how many miles to the gallon my car is doing.
Had a bill today from a certain wall and loft insulation company. We had the work done last summer and they had to come back to fill a hole they'd drilled in error, so the guys who did the original installation said not to pay them as the job wasn't finished. When the guy came to fill the hole he didn't ask for any money. We had been expecting a bill but nothing came until this morning (12 months on), a final reminder for £186, pay up within 7 days or this debt will be passed to a debt collecting agency. Not so much as a please, thank you, or anything. Yes I know we owed the money, its the tone of the letter I'm annoyed about. Anyway that would totally wipe out emergency fund.......is it an emergency???

Well done on the nsd! i am failing miserably at keeping count (i have had some, i think:rotfl:)
And :mad::mad: to businesses that do that. Sure you owed the money but 12 months after they've been???! That would make me a very mad dfw! esp if it wiped out the emergency fund too :eek:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Think I'm going to ask the insulation company for a bit more time to pay their bill. Not sure if I'll get anywhere but we'll see.
Have updated spending diary and started a list of the stuff we need to sort out. Started with paying the insulation company, new exhaust on my car, service on my car, flooring in bathroom and paint dining room (have paint so probably start with this one!!). Quite a mixed bag but if we can afford to do a few little jobs around the house it will keep me happy.:rotfl:
DS3 finished school on Friday and wants a gift for his teacher, so I found out some tea lights that I had (well known American brand). My Mom called round and said the 'Baby Powder' ones reminded her of nappy sacks......thanks Mom. Have got another couple of different ones as well so think I'll have to stick with the selection I have. I certainly don't want to have to buy anything else.
OH still on boardand NSD number 10. xx
