I want to achieve 12 this month so not quite as much as your 15 (BTW massive well done on achieving that!!!) but will check in and see how you're doing with them ;)

As for your ds3...my two little ones have regularly been having these meltdowns since the sun has been out and the days longer! *sigh* i pray for sunshine then as soon as it comes it makes the kids go mad and i wish for rain lol xx

  • DFW321, I know what you mean about the NSDs becoming addictive, I have started planning my whole week so I do most of my spending (petrol, food, works lottery, filling my saving/bus fare pots etc) as much as possible on the same day.:o

Didn't make it on here yesterday as I had a blazing headache at work which just got worse, so in bed for 8.00pm and woke up at usual time of 6.00am, feeling a lot better thankfully. I didn't sleep very well on Sunday night (I never do :() and I think I was just shattered.

Have updated spending diary with all the DDs that go out first couple of days of the month. Also have worked out how much I will need for extra child care in school holidays, but I must work out how much new school uniform is going to cost, can get some from A*da but the rest has to come from the 'uniform shop'.

Back up to £36 in £2 pot and today was NSD 3. (Hair cuts not til next week..doh!!).xx

  • This weather is driving me crazy. I rushed home to put a load of washing in on a quick wash, pegged out, the washing was out for about an hour and half and then the heavens opened, and I got soaked when I fetched it in.

OH has had a letter from Vanquis Bank, saying he has been preselected for a Visa card. We've never heard of them and he hasn't applied for a anything from them. Not sure what to do with it, return to sender or what???

Since I happen to mention to folk that I am saving £2 coins people keep saving them for me. I met my friend today and she had saved £10 worth, the only money I had was the haircut money, so I ended up swapping £10 of that, so £10 down on haircut money but £10 up in £2 pot.:o

Still can't get through to tax credit people. Think I'll try first thing in the morning. xx

  • Still haven't got through to TC people. :(

Managed to put one load of washing out when I came home but I'm keeping a very close eye on the weather, at least it should dry a bit.

A bit of a spend day. Have been to supermarket and spent £29ish, put £15 petrol in my car, got £20 cash which I got DS3 a McD's £2.29, OH has got £8 for work lottery (for the whole month), £2.50 for DS2 school lunch tomorrow (a treat on a Friday as he has cooking and PE), OH needs another £1 for some charity thing at work, I need £1 for my works lottery. That leaves £5ish.

The dog is off for her booster tomorrow so that will be another spend day.......oh no I can feel the panic set in as I fall behind with the NSDs.:rotfl:

Its the local carnival this weekend, will probably just go and watch the floats and keep well away from the fair.

OH has biked to work for 4 days this week, if he does a minimum of 3 days on his bike he puts £5 in a pot, its upto £20 now, not sure what he's saving for but at least he is doing his bit. :)

    xx

    Hi Alice

Sorry have been away for so long..too much work and no time. MSe stuff has gone absolutely to pot:(

Sorry to hear about tax credits. I used to write to them. Same wth HMRC. It's so there is a record but as I also knew my blood pressure couldn't cope with repeatedly trying to call them and not get through.

Suggest you return to sender with the CC. think it's probably just a Pre- approval which some companies do...think BC for example.

Well done re OH's biking to work. Really good and soooo healthy

    Hi Alice,

I've just received the same thing from Vanquis and I just shredded it, heard too much bad stuff on here about them. Must be that they prey on the vulnerable

well done on plodding on. Nice one on keeping the petrol budget under control, this is a hard one for me too.
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Thank you chevalier, savvykaz and Brizzle, nice to have you back. Think I am going to post form back to the TC people. Hope you soon get back on track.

OH has just been told they are going to have their hours reduced. Quite bizarre as they've been doing overtime recently. So he will lose Saturdays and an hour everyday. I'm quite calm about it but I think this could be his lightbulb moment as he has just said we'll have to look at the budget to see where we can cut back!!! Like I haven't been doing that but never the less at least he is thinking.

Carnival has been cancelled due to the weather. :(

  • OH has just sat down with me and gone through spending diary/budget and although we will be about £200-£250 per month down we are sure it is do-able. With OH biking to work and really getting the food budget under control we should be OK. Won't say anything to CCCS just yet.

Would you believe the sun has come out tonight after a day of rain. According to the weather forecast its going to be dry all night and tomorrow morning until about 11.00am, mmmm do I peg out tonight so I can have a lie-in in the morning or wait and get up early???

Feeling on a bit of a high now that OH has finally got on board (properly). Not sure whats planned for tomorrow now there isn't going to be carnival.

Hope everybody has a great weekend.xx
