  • I've pegged 4 loads of washing out already and probably got at least another 4 to do. I hope its stays dry today.

I got on the scales this morning and I am horrified , I've put on nearly a stone since I started this diary. So I'm going to try really hard this month with eating sensibly and more exercise and just see if I can lose weight. Its doesn't help the fact that I ate half a packet of chocolate biscuits with a cup of tea before I got on the scales :(. I know I have mentioned before I've got a wardrobe full of lovely clothes if I could just fit in them!!!

Today I'm going to carry on with the washing, tidy and clean the whole house, take the dog and DS1 to the park and cook curry for tea. I also need to check meal plan for the week.

Off to update spending diary after yesterday, hope everybody has a good day.xx

  • Had a really good day yesterday, got all the washing and 80% of the ironing done, all upstairs clean and tidy, DS3 has made a den in the living room so will clean in there later today.

Todays 'jobs' include sorting pile of papers/letters/post that has accumulated on the side in the kitchen, finish ironing, tidy/clean down stairs, sweep drive, also for exercise take dog and DS3 to the park.

Yesterday was NSD number 6, today should be a NSD too.xx

    Hi Alice.

I don't think I've posted before but having been reading your posts for months.

It sounds like you've had a busy couple of days. I hope you're taking it easy this evening.

I wish our ironing was as up to date as yours. your house is probably a lot cleaner than ours also. What with myself & DW working full time with 45 minute commutes it's difficult.

I'm truly amazed at your NSD's. :T:T How do you do it? I've had one so far this month.
I was listening to Gill Fielding the other day. You may have seen her a few years ago on channel 4's The Secret Millionaire. She was talking about things and she said it is in the mindset. Obviously you have the correct mindset for NSD's. I'm determined to change my mindset to not to spend.

    Have a great week. :D

  • Thanks mummy, managed another NSD so upto 7 now. Hope your NSDs soon start building up.

Thanks bonnington, wow that is some commute, do you take the train or drive? I have to keep on top of the ironing as A. I dont have that many clothes that fit and B. I dont have any where to put the washing whilst its waiting to be ironed. As for the cleaning I do try and keep on top of it as its one of the things that gets me down when I dont, but there are times (usually when somebody pops in) where there is dog hair tumble weed rolling down the kitchen floor!!

We managed to get all the jobs done today and when we sorted out the paperwork found a sponsor form for DS3 for treasure hunt at school and a school trip in a few weeks, money for both needs to be in by next Friday. The trip is £9 and we'll give £5 sponsor money (keeping up appearances and all that), but won't get the money out until Thursday as I'm really keen to keep up with these NSDs.

Have been really good on the eating front today and I'm determined to keep it up all week. xx

  • Well back to work and the normal routine. Although I managed another NSD yesterday - number 8 :) we have got a few spends coming up -

    1. Sponsor money for DS3 £5
    2. Bday collection at work £5
    3. School trip £9
    4. Tyres on Saturday £150ish
    5. Lottery (work) for me and OH £4
    6. Fathers day present for my Dad, OH and FIL already sorted

Will also need milk and bread by Thursday. Think OH will definately have to go this time!!

Have been really good and watching what I eat, should feel better but feel absolutely shattered and was in bed a 9.30pm last night. I missed not coming on here......wonder if I'm getting addicted again :o.

    Back to work :(.xx

  • Number of months left on car loan down to single figures :). Don't want to wish the months away but once that is paid we can pay more money to CCCS and our DFD will come even closer.

Haven't had any tea tonight, didn't feel hungry and I certainly won't starve!!!!

Feeling bad, my DS1 has been asked to go into work earlier on Friday (when a certain footie match is on) and I said I thought he should go in for the money towards his car and insurance. I know he really wanted to watch the match and although they will have it on the big screen he won't be able to stand and watch it. He has said yes but I don't know I just feel a bit guilty/like I'm being pushy :(.

Managed another NSD day, number 9. But OH has reminded me my car MOT is due in 2 weeks..eeek. xx

    Hi Alice,

I think DS has got the best possible scenario! Whilst he might not be able to watch the match he hopefully will hear it and will be part of the atmosphere plus hes getting paid to be there instead of paying to drink.. win win id say ;)! Dont feel bad you are only advising him of which I think is good advice :).

Yay to NSD9, keep it up xx

  • Yesterday was a spend day, £29 in sburys and £30 cash. I used the cash to pay DS3 trip, sponsor money, collection at work and our work lottery.

I had £7 left and went to get the 'stuff' for my hair (daren't run out as I'd look like Krystal Tipps!) and the lovely shampoo and conditioner I'd treated myself to recently was on offer (half price) so ended up treating myself again and spent £6.59 in total.

How easy was it to spend £30 :(, but at least I can see where it has all gone.

So still on 9 NSDs so pleased with that.

I've had a letter about the PPI claim on my store card, apparently they are still investigating and 'expect to be able to provide a full response within the next 2 weeks', lets wait and see.

Debating on whether to get the cash our for my tyres or pay by card. I'm always cautious when using my Coop bank card somewhere new as I know it doesn't work everywhere.

Out with my Mom and sister on Saturday afternoon to a breast cancer charity 'do', will be a small spend day but all for a good cause.xx
