  • It is true...I can not be trusted to go into a supermarket. We....well I.. decided to make some cornflake cakes so I made a list of stuff we need and just a few other bits. Total cost was £27.65, and after all that I forgot to pick up some milk....gggrrrrr

I've got a couple of days off. I can feel under pressure to do something with the kids....just DS3 now. Things that cost money (not including the supermarket trip!!), and that look impressive all over social media but I'm not feeling that this holiday. We've made some cakes this morning and DS3 is now playing out with his friends. I've take some squash and cups out and they are chilling on our front lawn. We have been invited out to the trampoline park but we've declined. Feeling a little smug at the moment. :-)

I am also keeping DS3 off the game station. He becomes a different person on there. When he was off it the other day he said he was bored. I told him it doesn't hurt to be bored. :-/

Also I've noticed the amount of time he spends on his phone (utube). So that's being limited as well. Its tough but I've just got to keep telling myself it is for his own good.

I've got a line full of pegging out and a mountain of ironing so off to sort that out.

Have a great weekend Alice ..and it’s good pegging out weather :)
  • Back to work today, sad face. We have had a fantastic few days. Albeit very spendy.

Quick update. Friday went to visit family who live quite a distance away. Ended up calling into a cheapy shop that I never go in as there isn't one close to us. Spent £47!!
Saturday went into town. They had some street feast thing happening with street entertainment and a fair. Stayed well clear of the fair. Total spend £23
Sunday had family round for lunch. Extra spends £54 on food (this doesn't include weekly shop), £27 on alcohol.
Yesterday we went to friends. Just picked up flowers, £8.
My friend is off to c0stc0 today armed with my list. It should come to £45-50ish.
We had to pay our annual gardening wasted collection fee last week as well.

I've got a full line of pegging out today. Meal plan is out of the window as we have been here, there and everywhere. I'm back at work today but trying to stay out of the supermarket for a few days at least.

I have to say I'm having a bit of trouble on the fleabay front. I've had a bad review which was totally unjustified and a non payer on the highest value item. Im thinking I take the clothes to a car boot on a rail, get what I can, then take what's left to the charity shop. We seem to have clothes and bits to sell all over the house and it feels messy. I know this sounds very dramatic but....

I hope everyone had a great weekend. A very short week this week so not too bad.

Another spend this week was antivirus software annual fee £34. Also £10 for a birthday gift
This is a bit of advice for next year really, but might help other people too...

If you use Top Cashback you can search for G2A as a website (so get a few pence cashback) and then on G2A search for ESET antivirus. You can get that for a year for under £5. G2A is a website where people sell spare download codes/licenses that they don't use. It is used by my technologically skilled friends and they put me onto it.
Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.

Thank you katsu. I must admit I've never heard of this but sounds like a deal. I've never got to grips with Cashback sites either to be honest. An area I must try harder!

  • Last day of the month, time is just flying by. We've had a few spends, £175 for DS2s car insurance (he is paying the rest), £63 Costco from last week, £40 on xb0x membership (I'm sure we could of got this cheaper, DS3 is paying half out of his money), £35 on a takeaway (I know, I know :-( ), £75 on supermarket shop (meal plan done, ordered on line so I'm sure would of been more if I'd gone into the store).

I'm going to keep a track of NSD's in May. I'll make debt payments tonight, going to be tight now we've paid towards the car insurance, and we start to pay the water rates again from 1st May.

I've got a couple of things to get ready to post for fleabay. Really not enjoying the fleabay thing but going to keep plodding. Will do a mahoosive carboot as well.

I have to admit I have been taken in by this cleaning frenzy that's been all over social media, and have been purchasing cleaning stuff that I neither need or already have a product just as suitable. I've cleaned out and sorted the cleaning cupboard and I have enough 'stuff' to last a long time. So I'm not going to be buying anything else until all these things are used up. I've had a quick tally up and there is over £30 worth of product to use up, all over and above what I usually use which is all basic stuff.

On the money front managed to negotiate a deal on roadside assistance, saved £20. But I've only managed to pay £350 off the debt. Currently on 2 NSDs, had to get petrol this morning. Also having my hair trimmed at lunchtime today. I've opted for a dry cut this time, as it's a bit cheaper.

Looking forward to a long weekend. :-)

Finally got to do the meter readings this morning... Just like old times, when I was on the ball! We are £43 in credit. The heating has been off for quite a while, and the hot water comes on twice a day.

Pegged out today, did a bit of gardening, and sweeping up. OH did a run to the tip. We've had a lovely roast now just chilling.

    Today is NSD3.

No packed lunches for tomorrow... What a great feeling. :j
