  • I've got my head back together now. Have done meter readings, we are minus £1.45. Not good, but heating is off now (unless we have company ;) ).

Have updated spending diary/budget. Will need to get petrol either tomorrow or Tuesday. Will call the council this week to see what we do about paying the council tax.

Have got DSs bus money, he has some dinner money in his dinner money account. Need £13 for sport activities this week, and £12 for school trip.

Also to pay this months childcare.

    I can do this.

  • Had to get petrol today, sent DS some money, so we have £23 left in the bank until Thursday.

The has got to be one of the lowest times so far on the journey to become debt free. I know I shall be disappointed when I log onto our dmp on stepchange but I'm going to get back on track. I've got to think about self managing now and busting the debt......just got to remember that I've/we've got to live as well!

Alice, you definitely need to remind yourself to enjoy your life too. I think you know this so make sure you set so many aside for this too.

I think self managing will work well for you, you've done so well, don't forget how far you've come :D xx

    I usually just lurk.

Alice, you've done SO well, you're more than halfway through your debts and that's with everything going wrong and supporting your son as well. Of course you've got to treat yourself sometimes, but hopefully it doesn't add to the stress. You'll figure things out, and keep plodding because you're amazingly resourceful and loving.

I agree with what someone said about your son getting a summer job, but that's not always as easy as all that. The only things I can think of are damage control, like e-bay or carboot sales, or picking up extra work, but again easier said than done.

Keep doing what you're doing! xXx

Thank you for your kind words Steerpike, yeah we are getting back on track now (after my mini meltdown). I do forget how far we've come, it's just such a rollercoaster a times.

DS will do his bit when he comes home for the summer. He doesn't know all the details but he does realise how much of a struggle it is to keep him out there.

Gearing up for a car boot, unfortunately I really struggle with eBay.:o

  • Today was NSD day and pegged 2 loads out too.....a great day for pegging out.:T

Going to call about council tax tomorrow.

Not sure what to do about bcard? As I've only paid half this month do I make up the payment to them, or just leave it as we're going self managed soon. Strange situation but I don't want to upset them.....get a grip Alice!!

Got a shopping list on the go, we are eating out of the freezer/cupboards this week.....and the bargain shop from the coop.

Tomorrow will need to get petrol, will go back to putting £30 in every Thursday.

Need to pay for school trip and DS2 needs some more trainers.

  • It certainly doesn't V.:o

Bit spendy last few days, went shopping spent £27 in @ldi, £43 in @sda (as we were out that way getting DSs trainers), school trip paid for and got DSs trainers £45. DS away this weekend, gave him £20 and a food parcel.

Spoke to council tax people, going to pay next week and then set DD up again.

Didn't spend any money at sports club today.:)

Managed to get 3 loads dried on the line today. :D Coloured hair tonight, have to use 2 boxes.....can't wait til I can afford to have it done at the hairdressers.
