Let's hope for some better, warmer weather in March so we all warm up a bit.
How is the emergency fund doing now? I'm impressed with your £100 to DS and £50 into flights pot. I'm sure I'd dip in as soon as another need came up! When is DS back for the summer?
So just one more payment now before you're in the 14's! You'll be under 10k before you know it.

All is not quite what it seems Verbatim, we have a few months off from the water rates so I'm using that money to send DS extra. I'm also using some of the food budget. It's been very tight since he lost his sponsor.

We're waiting for DS to confirm the dates for flying home. He's in Canada at the moment, he goes back to the States end of March (thankfully that flight is paid for by the university) so should finish towards end of May. Can't wait to see him. :D

By Aprils payment we'll be in the 14's. We currently pay £475 per month, have thought of trying to round it up to £500 but not worth the stress. Still it's certainly going in the right direction.:)

Keep plodding Alice...agreed it's turned nippy. Meter readings show that we are spending more than our direct debit at the moment :( but it's so flaming cold :(

    Have a good week x

I thought it was very cold over the weekend. Have had the heating on in the evenings still but did switch it off earlier tonight. Don't think we're going to be able to switch it off from 1st March though.

    You too brizzle.

  • Finished up on 10 NSDs for February.

Yesterday pegged out 3 loads, dried a treat. Just got an massive ironing pile now, doh! Did a bit of tidying up outside too, can't wait for the warmer weather.

  • Thanks brizzle. :)

Have logged onto our DMP tonight. We have paid off nearly 20k.:D I know I shouldn't keep logging onto to it but it's keeping me focused.

    Today was NSD1.

Tonight I've made spag Bol sauce for the freezer, and cottage pie to tomorrow's tea. We had sausage, beans and jacket potato for tea tonight (Needed to use sausages up).

Thank you a Verbatim and dawnybabes, all of a sudden the debt seems much more manageable. Just got to try and not wish my life away just to get it paid off!!

Yesterday was a NSD too, today need petrol and a few things from supermarket. Will also pay works lottery and DS needs money for school trip.... And he still needs school shoes!

We have car trouble, OH going to call into garage today ( I hope) or at least phone them. Do I push him to sort it out, or do I just leave it and the car breaks down beyond repair? :(

  • OH did call into the garage, will need to book car in next week. :(

Got petrol Thursday but held out and went food shopping yesterday. Had written meal plan and shopping list but left them on my desk at work so had to do shopping from memory....doh! Spent £68.

Have updated spending diary/budget. Spends for February, petrol £160 and £40 in other car. Food/toiletries/cleaning stuff spends £297 in total, childcare £150.

Just done meter readings, we are only £16.89 in credit, gas/elec last 2 weeks cost £52.

Transferred £50 to DS, £50 to flight pot and £29 to emergency fund (which we will use for car).

Not really pegging out weather so have only done 1 load. Tomorrows supposed to be better apparently, so will hold out for then.:)

Wowwee Alice can't believe that you've paid off £20k that is totally amazing! I cannot believe how quickly you seem to have done this, keep going you'll be debt free in no time xx

  • Thanks mummy, I can't believe how quickly we've got to this stage either.:)

After I'd written Saturday's post the sun came out. Managed to get 2 loads out and nearly dry. Yesterday pegged another load out, then tonight I've done all the ironing. Came straight in from work, changed, put the tea on and got the ironing board out, rock and roll.:rotfl:

Yesterday we had the oldies and both sets of parents round for dinner. Albeit chaotic we had a lovely afternoon.

The next 10 days are going to be very tight, need to pay childcare, also once car goes in will have to see what that's going to cost.

    Yesterday and today were NSD's.:)
