  • It's the first time in ages.....possible years :rotfl: I'd had to use the TD. Looking forward to the 'keep pegging out for as long as I can' challenge.;)
    Xx

Please can I join your challenge:rotfl:?

Can't remember what date I got to last year

We sold our tumble dryer (either earlier this year or late last year) so only way to dry clothes will be the line or airer.
Luckily we have a very warm house (even when heating not on the immersion tank warms the top of the house when we put the hot water on) so I will just have to keep organised and on top of the washing.
Rather than do 5 loads at weekends I end up doing 5 throughout the week so they can all get dry.
  • Of course you can EE.:D If it's not raining or there's snow on the ground I'll be pegging out.:rotfl:

We are hoping to leave the heating off until mid October, I'd say 1st November but I think that might be pushing it. Also if we have company it will have to go on......keeping up appearances and all that.;)

Got 2 loads to peg out today, but also have a mahoosive pile of ironing too.

Today meeting a friend for lunch.

Yesterday spent £27 at supermarket. Need to get petrol today. Need to get some NSDs in soon.

  • I am so sad I have been back and checked how we managed last year with the heating challenge:eek::rotfl:

Alice and I both managed until 6th November!!!

At the end of October it was 14c at night:eek: - wonder if we will have a mini heatwave in October again??
Hope we do as it will help with the challenge!!:rotfl:
  • EE I quote often read back in my diary to see what I've been up to same time last year :rotfl: usually same old!! xx

  • I have been AWOL for a few days. Think this is the longest break on my diary.:o RL has just got in the way.

    Quick update-
Have paid one lot of sports club money....just another 2 to pay.

Had gas/elec bill and we are £19.12 in credit.....will definantely be doing the 'leave the heating off for as long as possible' challenge this winter.

Kids now back at school and I'm back at work. DS2 is having lunch at school, not very MSE but will see how it goes. Think it will cost approx £12-£15 per week.

Letter and text from Bcard saying our payment agreement is coming to an end....we had 30 days to sort new payment plan. Need to speak to stepchange as we are not going to catch up on the reduced payments.

Really need to update spending diary/budget, and do a meal plan. Looking forward to getting back to 'normal'.

Mummy and EE looks like the challenge is on. Extra jumpers all round.:rotfl:

  • I think this is good news (I use the term 'good' loosely), OH's debt with Bcard has been transferred to PRA Group. Now on the letter from Bcard they state the amount outstanding is £1340 but on the attached letter from PRA is says the balance is £1297?!?

Wonder if Bcard will do this with my debt??

Chippy tea tonight, washing machine on the go ready to peg put tomorrow, kids sports clubs start tomorrow. Thankfully they are playing close to home this week so saving on petrol.

    All sounds good Alice.

Can I join your 'keep the heating off' challenge??! I am aiming for 31 October..but as I have a lodger that may be a push? Will see what I can do by keeping radiators other than the one in her room switched off perhaps?

Anyway like a challenge! The pegging out...well as you know Alice..we have no TD option anymore in our house so it's pegging out all the way here! :rotfl:

    Have a great weekend

  • Of course you can brizzle, welcome to the 'put another jumper on....we're not putting the heating on yet' challenge.:rotfl:

Have had a mixed few days, not many spends...good job money v.tight at the mo. I've totally lost count of how NSDs I've had.

Spends I can remember, petrol £50 (£30 in one car,£20 in the other), food £45, toiletries/cleaning stuff £12, DSs bus ticket £15 (different school, so different route), £10 few drinks at kids sports clubs over weekend.

Spends coming up are childcare for the month, haircuts and colour, sports clubs sub (still!!), DS2 needs/would like a new mobile (more about that in a mo) and DS3 will need some money transferring.

We've been pricing up a mobile for DS2, have looked at deals with EE to include the broadband which means we could cancel sky broadband and telephone (cancelled sky tv ages ago, don't miss it to be fair), he would get more data, wouldn't cost any more than we pay now for his mobile and broadband would work out cheaper. But as we are not supposed to take on anymore debt, this is breaking the rules. Feeling confused about it all.:o
