Postage from the US can be a killer, but if you keep an eye on the sellers, there are bargains to be had. I find prices to be a wee bit lower than UK for decent plus size clothes, so it all kinda balances out.
Stay put of the supermarket, bung a box of tissues in the bathroom. Can you tell Ive done this before ! Lol
Youre doing great on the debt reduction. Thankfully ours is gone now .. Apart from the mortgage from hell .. But I will never forget the lessons I learnt to avoid spending. Mostly From this site !
Have a fun friday !Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
Mara, I don't think we'd of sorted our finances if it hadn't been for this site, very grateful for all the great advice.
I couldn't help myself yesterday and did go the supermarket (Mara, in my defence I didn't see your post until after I'd been)
Spent £27 in sburys but that did include 2 pizzas as DS2 had friends round, and I did go without a list which is a big mistake, £20 in £1 shop, £30 petrol and spent just over £7 in the pub at lunch time.
This morning we've been to sports club, spent £3 on drinks.
Have got 2 loads pegged out, blowing like crazy.:D
The big news is........that after April's payment has been made our debt will be in the teens, £19,966 to be exact.
It's still such a big figure but it is going in the right direction.
I still can't get my head around self managing our DMP. Give it another few months and I'll see how I feel then.

I can't quite believe it either, it's still a big figure but it just sounds better 'in the teens'.:)
DS1s trip is sorted, can't really say how we got hold of the money (all legit;)). But this does mean he won't come home for the summer, but it's a small sacrifice for the experience he's going to have. DS is paying it back when he starts work and we will help what we can.
Have got just one load pegged out today. I've got next week off work so it eases the pressure of getting everything done today.
I'm going to try this 'Kondoing' thing as well, and try and get back to ebaying stuff.
Today should be a NSD, number 5.
Hold onto your hat it's very windy out there.:D

You are doing so well. I've kondoed the drawers with pants and socks and tights etc and can now find things.... However, just looking at youtube for how to do the wardrobe as I think that will be complicated. So far it looks like it will be but watch this space.

Thanks magsnoodle, I did my undies draw too yesterday and got OH to do his. It was a pleasure to open the draw this morning.:). I've done the smaller hanging space in the wardrobe, got some costs/jackets to ebay and find some other bits to stick on there....just got to get round to doing it!! Not sort of following any particular way of doing it, just trying to be ruthless.
First morning of my week off and all I've done so far is put a wash on, had breakfast and come on here...oops.
Yesterday was indeed a NSD 5, today should be too.:)
I have found very good alternative to bi0oil, av0n do something like it called tissue oil, my mom got me some as I have very bad scarring on my forearms (childhood injury) and I was saying how expensive the bi0oil is.....I do use quite a lot.....but this av0n stuff seems to be doing just a good a job, for half the price. Will see how it goes.
Jobs for today -
Washing - one load in, one to do.
Ironing - pile building nicely
Tidy kitchen - sort paperwork that just sitting on the side, then file it, and tidy out at least one cupboard.
Trees - get a quote for tree trimming - at least arrange somebody to come and have a look
Think that will do for now.;)

I've finally got some bits on ebay, all starting at 99p so not going to make millions but every little bit helps.:)
I've sorted out one wardrobe. I have been ruthless, and there is more for ebay/carboot and the 'money for clothes' bag.
Yesterday spent £24 in @ldi. Today should be NSD 7.
Jobs for today-
Trees - try another couple of numbers, as the other 2 haven't come back to me.
Vacuum - still can't get hold of the local place that fixes them.
Sorting - pick another cupboard or drawer to do.
And will take DS 3 to the park.:)

Have missed a few days. Wednesday was NSD 7. Thursday we went to a forestry park thingy place, took lunch and drinks but spent £3.50 on parking.
Yesterday I went to sburys spent £64. Put petrol in the car and OH paid his works lottery (I'd paid mine in advance).
I've got £20 on my n3ctar card. Don't know what to do with it? Save it towards Christmas, wait til they have 20% off and get some clothes for DS3......or what? I'm always frightened my card will get stolen and somebody will use the points.:o
I've pegged 2 loads out and got another one in.:)
This morning we are off to sports club and out to a party this evening, max spend £20. Plus £10 charity donation instead of a gift.
Im off to get haircut this afternoon, looking forward to that hour of pampering:)
I've had my AA renewal £64:eek: mmmm don't think I'll be paying that.
OH had a CC application pack from vanquis bank......return to sender.
Ebay stuff got bids total of £4.50 so far....will try and put some more stuff on tomorrow morning.
Still haven't sorted trees or vacuum out!
Hope everybody has a great day.

Sounds like you've been busy Alice! You do so well with your NSD's, I'm horrendous nowadays. Think I could do with another LBM just for the NSD's!
You could save the points for DS clothes, will he be needing summer things? You could make a list now of what he needs and just buy those things with the points? xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks mummy, I even didn't do to bad with the NSDs last week when I was off work all week.:)
Yeah I think I will get DS3 some clothes. He does have loads of 'hand me downs', which is great but he does need some summer stuff. Mind you I did see a very nice bag in sburys last time I was in there.;)
Last night spent £22 on drinks. Had a fab time, so it was worth it.:)
Have done meter readings this morning, used £30 over 2 weeks.....I don't think that's too bad.
Sold 1 item on ebay for £6.50, the others finish today, fingers crossed.
