  • I agree mummy, OH is due for a checkup soon too.

OH had to get petrol in other car today. Apart from that no other spends.

Made £10 on ebay, just waiting for item to be picked up. Will put the money towards making up the difference for the cricket stuff.

OH [STRIKE]needs[/STRIKE] would like £50 for activity weekend coming up for friends birthday.

I need to get back on track. Have had a really busy couple of days. Went to see 'oldies' took some flowers and some foods bits for them yesterday.

Thursday spent £33 in sburys and got petrol. Yesterday was a NSD. This morning we went to sports club, spent £3 on food bits and paid cricket subs for DS2 (waiting for OH to confirm how much his are, he thinks £10 per week:eek:).

I got my AA cover down to £29, down from initial renewal of £63.:)

Had to have the heated airer on Thursday night. :o. Didn't do any washing to peg out today as the forecast was pants, it's not raining but it blooming freezing out there. No heating on in the house though!!

I must update spending diary/budget and do a meal plan (I said that on Tuesday and I still haven't done it.:o

I found your diary earlier today and after a few too many hours, I've caught up! I just wanted to say you're an inspiration. I've just started my debt free journey and although I have quite a small amount of debt I am finding it a struggle to cut bad behaviours. The other day I went into primark having budgeted £50 (desperately needed a couple of sundresses and wanted to grab a few pairs of girls boxers for bed). Ended up spending £90! I am doing a debt free diary on here now which hopefully will help.

My Nan used to do something, not sure if it would help you with overspending in the supermarket. Basically she calculated what her shopping should come to, plus an extra £10 just in case. Took that in in cash and would leave her card in the car. That way she would only spend the budgeted amount, but her card was close to hand if a great offer was on. For example maybe once or twice a year the washing powder she uses goes on offer of 3 for £10, when that offer comes on she usually stocks up.

If you stop by one of the counters (meats, fish etc) and then just ask nicely if they could keep an eye on your trolley as you've left your card in the car they usually say yes and will pop it to one side for you. Just an idea?
No more making the same mistakes!

Ooo thank you NotNormal, I do tend to warble on a bit.:rotfl: it's a real roller coaster journey to become debt free.

I think cash may be the way forward or order on line?? I have a real problem with making sure the cupboards/fridge are brimming with food. Don't know why, certainly doesn't come from my childhood. My childhood was very privileged, perhaps that's what I'm trying to recreate for our kids.:o

Good look on your debt free journey.

  • I've messed up the meter readings, I read them last week which was only a week instead of leaving it a fortnight. Doh!!

This morning we have taken a trip to @ldi and l1dl, spent £43 in @ldi and £13 in l1dl. Got home and both milk carton from l1dl had split, it's not really local and I would spend more in petrol if I took them back. Have emptied them into other containers, will keep an eye on them going off.

Extra spends were batteries for both smoke alarms, deo and other toiletries stuff.

We're having a chicken dinner today. I've got one of those chicken cook in the bag ones, don't know why as I didn't like all the stuff that came out of the last one we cooked.....school boy error!!

Have pegged one load out so far, going to do one more to put out...won't risk any more.

My av0n came this morning, spent £7 but that is saving on the oil stuff. So still only on 1NSD.

Have got a non payer on ebay aaarrrgghhhh. Other bits just the one bid of 99p.:o. Fingers crossed for a last minute bidding flurry.;)

  • Forgot to note that OH had 2 pairs of sunglasses from @ldi for when he's biking. £1.99 each, a small price to pay for keeping him happy and quiet. :)

Today was NSD 2.:) have sorted bus money out and emptied change into various pots. I now have 70p left in my purse.

Today we've worked our socks off in the garden, really pleased with the result. Had burgers/sausage, jackets and salad for tea.

Swimming payment is due this week!!

Got 2 ebay parcels to post, waiting for payments on the other 2. Still not had payment for the 'other' item.....could do without this really. I'm not a fan of ebay at the best of times!!

    Can't believe it's Thursday night already:eek:

I need to work out how many NSDs we've had in May so far. Had to get petrol in both cars yesterday. Paid swimming - DS was going to give up, he can swim very well but he wants to carry on.

Haven't been to a supermarket since the weekend.:)

Payment due to stepchange this weekend.......it such a big amount.:o I keep saying I'm going to work out how many more payments we have and put a countdown in my signature. It seems like a lifetime at the moment!

It's been a funny week. Kids have so many activities, work has been really busy, haven't done any washing/housework, haven't been able to keep my diary updated, budget/spending diary needs bringing up to date. The only thing I know is that we have £67 left in the account (after paying stepchange, 2x mobiles that are due), need £15 for cricket this weekend and will need some food bits......will do a meal plan and just get bits we need. Hope fully petrol will last.

Have sent DS the money we made on ebay.
