  • So sorry to hear your OH's hours have been reduced and that you have extra child care to pay for, fingers crossed you geta bit of help from Tax credits.

    Take care.x.

Thanks pwps, not banking on anything but we'll see.:o

OH paid swimming yesterday. I called into sburys spent £19, got loads of bargains/reduced bits, must of been there just at the right time.:)

Today I got petrol, paid childcare, works lottery. OH found an @ldi voucher in a newspaper at work, £5 off £40 shop, valid until next weekend.:)

Forgot to mention OH managed to get the lawn mower to work.:D not quite running right but does the job.

Still need to update spending diary/budget.....and work out how we are going to pay for everything..eek.

So sorry to hear that your OH has had his hours reduced. It seems so wrong that companies can do this! I hope you manage to work your way around the extra childcare and hopefully you will get some time off as well.

Thank you gillst, it is very frustrating :(. On the plus side I've managed to book a couple of days of the second week of the holiday so that saves us a couple of days childcare.

I've received a letter from Bcard about the CC, they have agreed the amount we are paying for another 12months.

Family meal tonight, I've looked online at the menu for where we are going.........looks like we'll be sharing a starter only :rotfl:

The money from e0n still hasn't appeared in our account, OH called them again yesterday (unprompted.....result;)),apparently he was given the wrong information when he called originally and the money could take upto 5 days to transfer not 'a couple' of days he was originally quoted.

I have decided not to do a normal weekend food shop...well I say decided it was decided for me as money is so tight. This is a bit alien to me but there is food in the cupboards/fridge so we are not going to starve. I will just have to get over the fact that I like to see the cupboards/fridge well stocked. The only thing we will need is milk.

Will take a trip to @ldi when I do go food shopping and use the voucher.

Do need to petrol today but save on DS2s bus money next week as it's half term.

  • £47 our meal was last night:eek: and we had water (free) to drink. Felt a bit of a fraud as it was all about keeping up appearances, never mind all done now.

OH is stropping/stressing about everything this morning. We only have water to drink at home, no squash/juice/milk so he's moaning about that........I can see we're in for a good day.:(

DS3 is going to the sports club this morning to play cricket, have had to do a repair job on his trainers. OH was going to find out how much it is but he hasn't and that has stressed him even more. They've gone anyway, not sure how he will pay he doesn't have any money with him.:(

Put £8 petrol in yesterday, strange amount!
Fingers crossed the money from E0n will appear in the bank tomorrow. We need spending money for DS, trainers/school shoes and pay for extra childcare this week.

Think I'll do a list for @ldi and ask OH to go (once e0n money received), I know he'll stick to the list! We will have to get some milk before that though.

We've been given a 'get out of jail card' with the money from e0n so I/we must stick to the budget now. Need to get the emergency fund back up and running and stick to the food budget. On the plus side we haven't had to touch the 20p and £2 coin pots so hopefully can keep saving them for Christmas.

Will call the tax credit people and explain about OH reduced hours and extra childcare, see what they say. Our last payment to HMRC paying off the tax credit overpayment is May so will be £40 better off.

Hope everybody has got some sunshine, it looks a bit fresh out there but at least the sun is out.:)

  • Yay the money from e0n is in out account.

Have done shopping list/meal plan (should of been working ;))but need to check a couple of things when I get home. Don't think OH will go until tomorrow night.

The kids seem to have adapted to water only at home, they only have water in their lunch boxes and at their sports club anyway. I know its much better for them. OH seems to of come round to the idea too. (following yesterdays strop).

    Still to sort out -
1 - DS2 school shoes have worn out, rubber bit on the sole (OK whilst the weather is dry!)
2 - DS3 needs school shoes and trainers (has been wearing trainers to school now they are worn out too)
3 - Spending money for school trip - will get tomorrow
[STRIKE]4 - Money for family meal - next weekend -[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]5 - Swimming lessons - OH should pay tonight[/STRIKE]
6 - Get 'fan' fixed on 'other car' - need to book - £40
7 - Extra money for childcare during holidays, need to see if I can book a few days off which will help. £150 over the 2 weeks.

Pegged 2 loads out this morning :).....will add them to the mahoosive ironing pile tonight.

I'm feeling good about this money you watch something come and spoil it......:o

  • New trainers for DS3 purchased. £14 from sports shop. He's now in a size 2, next size up start from £21.99  Will keep a look out for any special offers.

Also got DS2 some new socks for his trip and his €s. Put £25 petrol in the car and got some cash so DS2 can have his haircut tomorrow (that wasn't on the list!).

OH going to work in the car tomorrow and then to @ldi on his way home......with the voucher and the list. ;) Going to try their fruit and veg again.

  • OH has been to @ldi, he took a calculator and added up as he went along (I'd never thought I'd see the day he did that;)). Spent £40.66 less the £5 voucher.:T

He also put £10 petrol in the 'other' car. DS2 had his haircut, £9.50.

I've made a cottage pie tonight for tomorrow nights tea. I was going to do the ironing but came on here instead!........but will have to iron DS2 last few bits for his trip tonight.

I use the calculator on my phone to add up my shopping, saves me having to take something else out with me or something else to forget.
